The national cave house "Peter Tranteev" was built in 1981 on a limestone rock in the Kaleto area, 12 km from Lukovit and 2 km from the railway. Karlukovo railway station on the Sofia-Mezdra-Varna line in the Iskar Gorge. Built for the needs of research activities in the field of speleology on the karst plateau of Karlukovo, rich in caves, gorges and sinkholes, it subsequently turned into a base for mass tourism.
The location and position of the hut gives the inhabitants the impression that they are among the clouds. Completely renovated in 2012. The cave house is ready to accept anyone who decides to break away from everyday life for a moment and be transported to another world ... there, under the "Eyes of God". The path starting from the cave house leads to a large cave entrance.
The building of the Cave House is unique in its location - it was built in a rock crevice, and its shape, when viewed from above, resembles a bat. Natural stone was used for part of the walls. From the cave house you can see the valley of the Iskar river, as well as the Prokhodna cave.
