Equipment Required:
• 2 Router
• Console cables for Routers
• Ethernet cables for connections between devices
• Computer with Terminal emulation software e.g. PuTTY
IPv4 Address Table:
-------------------
Router1:- GigabitEthernet0/0/1:- 172.16.0.1/30
Router2:- GigabitEthernet0/0/2:- 172.16.0.2/30
-------------------
Lab Task:
Note: For the full list please refer to the document provided above under the Lab Tasks, Topology and Lab Solution section.
1. Connect the devices according to the provided topology.
2. Connect to the CLI of the routers and enable privileged EXEC mode and go to configuration mode. Configure the appropriate hostname on each device as per topology shown above.
3. Configure IPv4 addresses on the appropriate interfaces.
4. Examine each interface and initiate a ping for each side and make sure there is connectivity between Router1 and Router2.
5. From the global config create password and enable cdp globally.
6. From the global config mode configure a couple of accounts and use the enable secret command.
7. Configure the console interface.
8. Configure banners.
9. Configure line vty 0 4.
10. Configure SSH version 2.
11. Verify that you can SSH to Router2 from Router1 and vice versa.
12. Check CDP neighbor command, what can you observe?
13. Disable Domain Name System lookup feature on the router.
14. Save the configuration across all network devices once everything is working.
