The human voice in my humble opinion is still by far the most complete musical instrument, and when serveral voices are blended together as in this song the end result is ever bit as good as any orchestra, and no orchestra ever looked as good as these wonderful ladies bless you girls you have done Ireland proud love you all xxx

LYRICS Of all the money e'er I had I spent it in good company And all the harm that e,er I did Alas it was to none but me And all I've done for want of wit To mem'ry now I can't recall So fill to me the parting glass Good night and joy be to you all So fill to me the parting glass and gather as the evening falls And gently rise and softly call Good night and joy be to you all Of all the comrades that e'er I had They're sorry for my going away And all the sweethearts that e'er I had They'd wish me one more day to stay But since it fell unto my lot That I should rise and you should not I gently rise and softly call Good night and joy be to you all Fill to me the parting glass And gather as the evening falls And gently rise and softly call Good night and joy be to you all La La But since it fell unto my lot That I should rise and you should not I gently rise and softly call Good night and joy be to you all So fill to me the parting glass And gather as the evening falls And gently rise and softly call Good night and joy be to you all Good night and joy be to you all.

Of course, this is a traditional song, and they left out everything after the second verse. "If I had money enough to spend And leisure time to sit awhile, There is a fair maid in this town Who sorely has my heart beguiled. Her rosy cheeks and ruby lips, I own she has my heart in thrall, So gently rise and softly call, Good night, and joy be to you all! Oh, may you drink and not be drunk And may you fight and not be slain A man may court a pretty girl And perhaps be welcomed back again But since it has so ought to be By a time to rise and a time to fall Come fill to me the parting glass Good night and joy be with you all!"

I like *the previous recording* of this song better because it's faster. Some songs sound better in moderato than in adagio. I am very picky. The one from 2012 is not quite as slow as this one.

I always give credit to people who have the nerve to perform for such huge crowds I can't imagine how nerve racking it is
@kevinrice705 років тому
Nothing to it if you know what you're doing, and they do. I've performed in front of hundreds with a Grammy winner. There are no nerves so long as you know your shit. That being said, Celtic Woman absolutely is beautiful to see live. The recordings are not lies. They sound absolutely incredible in concert. This particular performance is great, as are most of them. They are charming, tell little stories about some songs, and I still say whomever the violinist is at the time doesn't get enough credit for floating around stage playing so well. Regardless of that, the singers have incredible harmony, each can sing amazingly as an individual, and none tries to overpower the other. Live is only different than what you find on UKposts in that it's just that much more powerful.
