This man can prevent a brownout by just exercising.

These people aren't actually charging the battery off of the bicycle trainer or the rowing machine. The smart trainer they're using (Elite Tuo) doesn't support power generation, but does have a power meter that will read out the mechanical output of a rider. The cable they have coming off of the power bank looks like it's a pigtail cable meant to allow a DC power supply to charge the device, however, even that isn't hooked up correctly as each source needs a second wire for each return path.
