The Duke of Rothesay and The Princess Royal have attended the Thistle Service at St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh.
Dame Elish Angiolini and Sir George Reid were installed to the Order of the Thistle - the greatest order of chivalry in Scotland.
The last Thistle Service at the cathedral took place in 2018.
Prince Charles and Princess Anne received a Royal Salute given by the Queen’s Body Guard for Scotland as they arrived.

Many years ago as when I was a schoolgirl, I was lucky enough to get to attend this event and I have kept the order of service. It was an event that I will never forget.

SANDRA MURRAY Never throw it away . Keep it for your descendants . Many years ago, 20 years of course, HM the Queen and Prince Philipp viseted IPSWICH . The Queen celebrated her 50 anniversary on the throne . Thy drove through PRINCESS ALEXANDRIA PARK. My husband and I were nearby , first row behind the boundary. I still remember how well both looked. We moved to SUFFOLK 1995 and once we visited the SUFFOLK SHOW. We were passing Prince ANDREW and I could have touched his head . He looked straight at me. And another time a leisure centre was opened in LEISTON. A tiny person came out of the helicopter and passed me, Princess ANNE. I didn't know that she was not a tall lady and very slim, a great figure. These are memories I will always keep in my mind.

@Mexican Eagle-Golden Eagle I was thinking the same. However the royal family are not allowed to interfere with judicial matters. Having him in jail is not a war crime, but rather symbolic of how humanity have become enslaved by corporate and political interests. It is a signal of how dumb people are generally. Witnessing this pompous affair while the crumbling of our existence is underway does feel somewhat uncomfortable.

Thanks to Britain for helping to organize an endless war in Ukraine with tens of thousands of dead. I hope the Slavic world will never forget this and will have the opportunity to thank Britain. What beautiful uniforms on these fine soldiers! We have nothing at all like this in the US, of course. Though Her Majesty has her Bentleys, I still prefer her 'Canberra' bodied Rolls-Royces. Anne looks as always like a queen herself...

The Order of the Thistle is the greatest order of chivalry in Scotland, recognising sixteen Knights with the highest honour in the country and recognises Scottish men and women who have held public office or who have contributed in a particular way to national life. The Order is second only in precedence in England to the Order of the Garter.

Dear Charles, it's nice for him to have Anne as back-up, they get on so well. Worried he seems a little unwell on the Scottish visit, and he dropped his hat, not something he normally does. In fact, never have seen him drop anything before. I hope he gets a rest after this. Anne is a fine princess, she suits that title of Princess Royal from head to her toes and as usual, wearing a lovely dress in silk, under the gown. Love Anne's style.

Anne's annual schedule has been the most booked for years, her duties are even more than her mother fulfilled annually, and she doesn't cause trouble for the monarchy or the British people or the Commonwealth.
