I was looking for someone to give an indicator on repairs, surely a good one in working condition would be worth more than repairs? Car noob over here

@@sebastianfischer2082it wouldn’t be that expensive. The exterior with the stripped parts like 5-10k maximum and since it stood so long it needs new liquids (fuel, oil, cooling etc) plus a new battery so like 1k maximum. Then it’s probably already ready to go. Gotta most likely change the tires so that’s 2k and maybe all the rubber and other gaskets bc those tend to get poros (idk if it’s the right word in german) /basically hard. So that’s gonna be a more expensive one bc it requires taking the engine partly apart to change the headgasket for example, like 3k or so. Then it should be. So like 16k all in all. Or 5k if you can do the easy stuff like changing tires, putting liquids and putting the body parts back on and leave the taking the engine apart to ppl with the right tools and knowledge.

Those vehicles are left behind by people in massive debt. There are severe consequences for not paying back debt in the UAE, I guess they value money more than people. Anyway, those cars are usually only around for as long as it takes for someone to find them and report them. If you go there and attempt to attain ownership, you'll just throw up a massive flag that the company who holds the owners debt, would use to legally obtain ownership of the vehicle. They might offer to sell it to you though, for full market value.

It’s what’s known as oem plus to car people. So it’s pretty much standard but might have things like nicer wheels on, for example some bbs on an older bmw, maybe a set of coilovers for better handling, better brakes, polybushed etc. Might have things off a higher spec car fit to it, while keeping the core of the car pretty much as it was the day it left the factory. So no big wings, wide body kits, buckets, cages and harnesses

@@MSAutoSnap Not true. The V5 shows you are the registered keeper of the car. In short, you are responsible for the car. It does NOT mean you own it. You are responsible then for keeping it roadworthy with MOT, tax and insurance. It would give him permission to do what he likes with the car, but he technically doesn't own it. Edit: He would receive that exact same piece of paper, just with his details on it, name, address etc. It's called a Logbook (V5)
