I was glad to see this area in your video. About a month ago, I went to Ralph Stover state park and went to the high rocks vista area. I didn't know it, but people commented that I could have kept hiking and went into this Tohickon Valley park, and it would have taken me closer to the creek. If you ever are back here - you should make the drive over to the high rocks area (about 5 minutes away) for some really epic views.

That's where we wanted to be, but the views from here were excellent! We will go to Ralph Sover Park next time. Thanks for the information!

Oh gosh, I adore this area. So much to see! I need to get back out there. Tinicum Park is nice, too. Great video 😊

Looks like a beautiful day for a hike

Unfortunately, we didn't make it to the High Rocks Vista at Ralph Stover Park, but a good time was had by all. Thank you for supporting us, Sherry, and tell Dave that I said hi.

Lots of downed trees there. Nice place. Thanks!
@LumberjackPaМісяць тому
It seems like every trail we hike is littered with downed trees. Maybe we didn't notice until we actually went hiking? Even at my mother-in-law's house, there are many trees coming down in the tree lines. On another note, we passed by Johnstown on our way out to Pittsburgh last weekend. I think that I remember that you lived out that way somewhere. Thanks for watching, Dave!

Oh Lumberjack, you killed me here buddy! You were so close to the vistas about 5 more minutes up the trail. Im very familiar with this area and hiked this out and back several times. What you saw was only a precursor to the actual high rocks vista. There are four to five rock outcroppings several hundred feet above the Tohickon. The rocks are so sheer and steep that proffesional climbers use them to practice there craft. There is a series of iron fences that prevent people from falling to there death lol. The cliffs are basically right next to the parking area, and there is also a healthy population of copperheads there. A girl was bitten several years ago, now there is signage everywhere and i spotted and photographed one on my last visit there. Along the creek on the other side is also the famous Doan's Cave noted hideout of the infamous highway men the Doan gang in the late 1700s. Always good to get outside though, I was hanging on hoping you made it lol!

Well, after hearing all of that, we will most definitely have to return. We take consolation in the ancient artifact that we found😂. Thanks for all of the information that you shared!

Beautiful views. Is that shale rock? Those waterfalls were nice to see. Would be beautiful when things are green, but then I'm sure you can't see through the trees as much.
@LumberjackPaМісяць тому
I don't know if it's shale, but science class makes me believe that it is sedimentary rock. Thank you for watching!

@@LumberjackPa Good to know. I'm not a rocktomologist and was guessing :)

Hi. Many years ago I took my wife on a secret date to a park for a picnic. This would be the perfect park for a lunch, playing rummy, and a small walk and a cool swim in the pool. The trail I would do at another time. Thanks.
@LumberjackPaМісяць тому
I am sure that she would love it. It's kind of you to watch and comment!

I prefer to have a paper map as well! I try to collect one everywhere I visit, but a lot of times they are out during the Winter months.
@LumberjackPaМісяць тому
I didn't think about it being a seasonal cause. Thanks!
