I saw a clip of Cher in concert, and she was telling the audience the story behind this appearance. There's a lot to the story, but she said she hadn't been on Dave's show because she was afraid he would say something mean to her that would make her go home and cry. But she didn't realize Dave had this huge crush on her and she thought it was cute when he was having trouble putting two words together.

Where does she say that?? Because Dave's huge crush was Terry Garr, Blake lively, Drew Barrymore, Julia Roberts but his biggest crush was Terr Garr. And he had crush on Natalie Portman... He never mentioned Char..... plus Char said because he says mean things to the guests he doesn't like???? Your information is little off ???? Plus only reason she went is he paid 28,000 for her hotel....

Cher's body language says a lot. At the start of the interview shouting distrust, arms folded is a big indicator, leaning back, sitting away in the chair, her body almost turned away and shoulder up, laughter is a camouflage in a way, it looked like she wanted to sit in the furthest chair when she came close, yea not good vibes. She is not afraid to say what she thinks, very strong personality, she is definitely not a pushover.

I love the way the chemistry is so constant throughout this whole exchange. She clearly legit thinks he's an a-hole, he clearly is one and hasn't fully accepted how much of one he is. But he's also masterful at keeping the dynamic fresh and knows his talent. He admires her for saying it which increases his attraction to her, she has enough charm and respect for him that she regards him just enough to keep things electric. She challenges him to up his charm game to max levels, not letting him get away with cheap jokes and effusive flirting. She's simultaneously challenging and coy. It's just perfect.

Kind of reminds me of her and Sonny when they had their own show on t.v. Cher has aged like a fine wine. She just looks better as she gets older, and it's not all from cosmetic surgery. Cher is everything! 🥰 I love her on Letterman, during all her visits she sure gave Dave a good ol' tough time - always tounge in cheek . 😂 I love her honesty and how she wraps it up in her sense of humor. This woman has achieved so much, and I will never stop admiring her for being the most amazing chick I ever had the pleasure of briefly meeting. We never talked, but I felt as if my life was complete just being in her presence 🤩I grew up thinking she was the coolest thing - I still do.

This was fun. She's great here, and proved to be a formidable actress over the years. I was taken aback however with her reaction about Sonny. "Meh" I thought they had remained good friends thru the years. Her true feelings obviously shone through in her heart-wrenching eulogy to him after his death.

Took them as a couple, quite a while to understand that the initial love they had was still there. Truly their business but it is Cher and Sonny and we got to share in their acceptance of the love they had for each other. Frankly, once you have a child with a man that bond is still there after a divorce and life goes on. Only exception becomes if the Dad does not do right by the child and deal with his kid with love. Sonny did that. At the end game they knew that idea and I think Cher truly mourned his passing. Life is complicated and you can't explain it with one "sit down" with someone. who is a stranger like Dave was to Cher, . even if you are Cher.

I watched the show every night for some thirty years and Cher over the years and Dave became and have become cherished friends. In fact on his last show he wanted Cher on his show. He adored her as we all have over the years. There is only ONE Cher and no one will ever again be like her.

Cher nailed it. Dave is an awhole, but we love him and he's funny. It's just of the personality he plays. Sort of a sarcastic smartass. I like it. It's channeling energy a lot of us can relate to. He is basically a real gentleman when it comes right down to it. At least, that would be my guess. I guess his style might be seen as abrasive by some and they might be nervous to go on, but he knows how hard to go. Databyter

Including the epilogue was a nice touch by this channel. As an aside, my wife & I were recently reminiscing and she said, “I miss watching Dave.” Me too. I know he always compared himself to Johnny, but he had quite a run, and technically, crazy beard and all, is still at it to a degree.

The people who run this channel need to stop uploading videos of old interviews of celebrities the second they pass away. I'm sure if Dave knew how to use the internet, he wouldn't like that they're doing that. They should at least put "RIP" at the beginning of the title, so comments like these wouldn't be necessary. Because unfortunately your comment is very necessary because of the reputation this channel has created for itself.
@kerigpope
@kerigpope 8 місяців тому
@@joeybaseball7352 Agreed. 👍 A simple "In Memoriam" (or RIP) in the title would definitely help, especially since Dave's history goes back to the early 80s and many guests from back then are now in their twilight years.

I'm so glad this vid was posted. I missed this when it first aired. But I heard about it on morning radio. However, all I heard was that Cher had called Dave what she called him and that the interview went very bad. Cher came off terrible. Now, all these years later, I know the truth! And WOW! Cher looks incredible here. As for Dave - he looks LIKE DAVE!!
