this generation needed a healthy space race. i hope it stays civil, we should be like a group jogging a marathon together, some will be ahead and that encourages the ones behind to push harder to catch up, but no matter what, no one is mean to the ones who take longer to finish the race, and no one is mean if they catch up or surpass the others. this isnt a war, its a race, healthy competitive encouragement to be better and further the knowledge and reach of humanity as a whole. i sure hope everyone realizes this.. were in this together, were a tiny spec on the surface of this universe, we better start singing kumbaya as a species because guess what? we might find out our planet is in danger from asteroids or coronal mass ejections or climate change and we will have to do things to save our species from extinction and it would be horrible if some races excluded others from continuing because of land borders, you know? space exploration is the fun part, its where we learn, to prepare for the not so fun parts that could be lurking in the future

@Shen Hu EXACTLY They only care about cutting taxes and have championed the cancelation of scientific programs such as the supercollider, even if they were near completion (venture star). For them to turn around and panic about others catching up to US tech with the EU and China being both set to surpass it, suggesting that the solution is to somehow stagnate the rest of the world or to completely undo regulations to allow for "new" tech that was once banned due to the danger or harm it posed to the general population is pathetic. If they were really worried about us tech not being left behind they'd accept to have some tax cuts revoked so we could fund NASA and public scientific megaprojects like we did in the space race.

They are parties after china's launch, the engineers and scientists high five and congrats each other, waving hands and even drunk a lot. Glad I learned English when I study abroad. Lol “not much progress in the last two decades”? There has been tremendous progress. You can’t just jump to the next planet days after the moon. They need to study the terrain, atmosphere, composition, trajectories, amount of fuel/food people will need, the health on their bodies and the machines, come up with countless emergency plans, write unbelievable coding into the computers, find the right astronauts who can survive this trip, test every inch of these plans out multiple times… They figured most of that out which is A LOT of progress. This isn’t my pride getting away when I say this… but China didn’t have to do as much of this testing as the US did because China has taken the progress made by the USA and NASA and used it to skip forward. They even said it in this video, NASA is an open source which yes they take data from. & everyone knows of the theft of technology they get caught with all the time. 🤷🏻 The US is decades ahead of every other space program in the world.

From Philippines. I would like to congratulate China for having such a faster development and for the capability to conquer an alien planet which is enough to prove to the world that China has already awaken. I have been always mentioning to this in my secondary school day that China is like a sleeping dragon. And, yet it is. It is now at its job. Sooner, Philippines will also be known greater because of some miraculous things to happen and we will rise as powerful as they.

It is a good coverage about space exploration activity by human beings. One can never see such complete report from media like ANN and FNN Japan though you can see coverage by TBS (Japan), YTN, MBS and Yong Hap News in Korea as well.

They didn't mention how the solar panels on the Zhurong have a special anti-dust coating which slows down the build-up of material on the solar panels.

Very good middle ground journalism here. just to top off something, NASA and China is doing some form of cooperation in these two flights. they are helping each other to monitor their crafts to make sure they are on track.
