@@anirbandutta6913 It's a mix of overpriced education debt, operating costs, and greed.. I do know of one Doctor who works for free overseas doing surgeries in Africa and things, but he's definitely funded here.. which I guess makes sense.

Yes. In December, a cat just visited our home, we fed her and she stayed ever since. In early February, she got pretty badly wounded while wandering outside. It was fine, but she got skin ulcers. On top of medicine to apply, she stopped eating our food so we had to buy all types of cat food. Now she's not going back to normal food, so it's one more weekly expense on top of our two dogs. We love them all, though. But pet ownership can be a burden if you haven't saved enough for these expenses.

@@anirbandutta6913 healthcare is so expensive because there's a very limited number of buyers (monopsony?), so they get to dictate price to the providers - and if you're not covered by one of those big buyers then you have no marketplace and they can charge whatever they want. Obamacare made things more expensive by increasing regulation, price controls and shifting costs from people covered by contract to people not covered by contract.

I’m with choco about movie theaters. So during Covid lockdown we built our own. Custom room with sound deadening in walls and ceilings, no windows, 135” screen w/4k HDR projector, and an 11 speaker Dolby Atmos system (7 on the floor, 4 in the ceiling) with 2 subs Absolutely love that room.
