I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but I play this over and over because of NO ADS. The worst thing to interrupt your classical state/groove is a g-damn tiktok or fitbit or tide ad in the middle of, say, Handel's harp concerto in b minor. Other classical channels, take note - no one wants ads when you're in the zone and trying to groove. And Chopin's work definitely puts you into a state of mind you don't want interrupted. He sat slumped over the desk, holding his face in his hands. Beside his elbow was a glass of whiskey. I didnt know it, but that was the moment my father realized our family lost everything. Back in 2008. Chopin was on his record player. I stood in the darkness for a long time and listened. After awhile, I ran up behind him and gave him a hug. He just melted. Picked me up, sat me on his lap and hugged me. And everytime I hear this, i think back on that moment.

His nocturns have this haunting quality. For me they conjure an image of a lone pianist in an empty baroque ballroom; the polished grand piano positioned near the long, patio windows, beyond which the blackness of the night is relieved only by the Moon; while the endless succession of nocturnes echo melancholically through the empty house like fading thoughts and dreams.

To those complaining that they hear the pianist's breathing, I can only say..... What world are you living in? That's a living human being sitting there working through some of the most cognitively and physically challenging music ever written. In what bloodless realm do you abide? Passion of any kind is accompanied by effort, and effort requires an active metabolism. Sit back on your cushions and appreciate someone who is actually taking an active role in communicating genius for your benefit. And, for the connoisseurs, I am not necessarily saying that this particular pianist is a passionate virtuoso, but even a literal reading of masterwork requires enormous concentration.

Allah did not forbid music. This is a complete fabrication. There is no such ruling in the Holy Qur'an. Music is a wonderful gift from Allah to people. Those who want to discredit Islam fabricate such lies in the name of the Prophet Muhammad.
