Gane needs to take at least a year off to really focus on his ground game if he wants to make any meaningful impact in the heavyweight division because as it stands, any fighter with decent ground game can easily beat him.

Something seemed off about Gane all week, his energy was so much calmer in a weird way and he was way too subdued and reserved. He had a good run for a kickboxer in MMA with white belt grappling skills. His team forgot to tell him this was a MMA fight and he should've trained a sprawl. Jon picked this as a return fight for a reason instead of Ngannou, a point striker with no grappling is the perfect style matchup for him.
