Yeah they need to port the DS/Mobile versions of DQ 4,5,6. I've completed DQ4 on DS, Just started but gonna hit the pause button for a few weeks on DQ5. DQ6 is just waiting collecting dust at the moment.

It helps the mobile versions are the best, so they could just port those versions.

SE really are saying no to more money if it doesnt get ported to Playstation 4 as well. Mana collection didnt get ported, but at least two of the game's remakes made it to PS4. Konami brought Castlevania and Contra collections on PS4 which include games that were original NE, GB and SNES exclusive. I dont think Nintendo should have a say whether Collection of SaGa could be ported to PS4 or not. SE ported Romancing SaGa 3 and SaGa Scarlet Grace Ambitions to each platform. They shouldn't assume a trilogy of GB games would only be marketable on a Nintendo platform. These SaGa games are better than all the indie games shoveled onto consoles and PC, and better than the overrated Final Fantasy games. And the originals have aged better than the first Phantasy Star. In fairness they should come to PS4 also.

I hope we will get them at some point. Ports of these games are long overdue. I definitely want to play a decent version of 5 on a console instead of playing it on a PC (whether it's Emulation or Steam) or on a Phone or Handheld console like the GBA.

@Thecooljack Hi 6 is my favorite in the series. However I wouldn't hold my breath for the SNES version on Switch.

Knowing Square Enix, they would remake I-IV in the style of V and VI mobile and say "look guys, doesn't it look WAY better than the originals! Sprites are ugly, right?!"

@@Jordan3DS Honestly I don't think that will be the case because as far as FF re-releases have been going they all seem to be based on the PC releases and 3-6 likely won't be any different. 1 and 2 have not been ported to Steam in any capacity so I am excluding them for the time being and hopefully they would be simple ports of the PSP Versions instead of the mobile versions this should require minimal effort on Square's part. 3 and 4 technically have been remade since the Steam versions are based on the Nintendo DS Versions. 5 and 6 however would have to be based on the Mobile/Steam versions since these are the most recent versions of the games I just don't see any other way for them to port them especially since they contain all the GBA Version content. And personally I am 100% against having them on NES/SNES Online since you are just streaming the games and don't actually own them. Another thing to consider is how 4 and 6 were originally localized.

Upgraded versions of them? I know they sort of remade the first two on DS but I thought it differed enough to be a different game. Though the first one had a wonderswan color version which I’d like to play. Did they ever do anything with 3?

@@frozennoodles1728 You might be thinking of Final Fantasy Adventure, because Final Fantasy Legends is the beginning of the SaGa series in Japan (Makai Toushi Sa·Ga). From what I understand the FFL installments are not connected to the Mana series.

Well, they technically aren't Final Fantasy, they're SaGa 1 2 and 3. Looks like the marketing tactic of renaming them in the west didn't work out that well. lol

@@moisescorral8297 I figured square they renamed it on the west to push and market their final fantasy brand even further while making sure SaGa and several japan successful franchises will not do well overseas. I heard rumors the team of the Mana franchise fought hard to keep their name from being named from Secret of Mana to Final Fantasy Adventure 2 overseas. Still surprise Square still somewhat doubling down on this tactic even after Nintendo recently revert previous IP censored/rebranded titles on re-release. At least square mention the original title to prevent/reduce backlash.

It’s probably because they’re just ports of older games, so going back and altering the titles in-game would be a whole thing.

Omg, I really hope Frontier 1 and 2 get a remaster. I love Unlimited SaGa, but I can see why most people wouldn't. It'd be cool if they did a full on 3D remake of Unlimited SaGa. Imagine!? 😍

I'd rather see the SNES versions of Romancing SaGa, personally. Minstrel Song is a really butchered version of 1 with ugly visuals, bad character redesigns, and really stupid additions (like weapon durability and life points). The original isn't a masterpiece by any means, but Minstrel Song just flat out sucks.

@@Jordan3DS Minstrel Song is an excellent game in it's own right. Most of the redesign concept art by Tomomi Kobayashi is excellent. It's the semi chibi character models that ruin the otherwise brilliant aesthetic. Also Barbara was gorgeous with her long curly hair. She was done wrong. lol But I would also like a SNES remaster. The original was incomplete and didn't have all the fatestones. The Wonderswan port fixed that, but it came at the cost of some sound design, and the fact that there's no fan translation.

Seeing the artwork they went with to open the segment I was really hoping for the DS versions. Oh well, I'll take what I can get. I wonder if they're direct ports or if they fixed some of the bugs.

I'm currently getting more into the Final Fantasy franchise.

The game is pretty good, ffl 1 is Hard, the Puzzles are Hard (at least for me) , your weapons can breake, magic is OP, and its Overall a pretty enjoyable game but there is somethings you must know beforehand like the meat System and how to Level a human in ffl 1 and the ineffectivness of some magic attacks to certain enemies, i hope they explain that well it can be confusing at times. im so happy that Nintendo Release it for the swicht Ps: sorry for broken english

I mean, there kinda is. SaGa 1 had a gorgeous remaster on Wonderswan, and SaGa 2 and 3 had full on remakes for the DS.

My thoughts exactly, or at the very least the Wonderswan version of Legend 1. I’m really iffy about picking this up. To me, the games are too hard to understand due to translation and size issues. Buuut knowing Square this may be a precursor to the DS ports making it at some point....doubtful, but maybe.

@@julianx2rl I mean they've released games that are less than 2gb on the carts - they've even released f2p games on carts. They've also released rom collections before - Sega Genesis Collection for example.

It would be cool to get every version of the original SaGa games, but this is Square Enix we're talking about. Their only way of porting games involves being as cheap, lazy, and fast as possible. They don't really care if the product is as good as it can be, they just care if the costs are as low as possible so that they can maximize profit. If they added the Wonderswan and DS remakes, then that would require actually putting in *gasp* effort, and that's not their style. Making a Game Boy emulator and throwing three ROMs into it takes two seconds and costs nothing.

Honestly for 26$ you can emulate them on the same size screen for free. Dont encourage this kind of behavior from Nintendo

@@TonyKanameKuran I have a memory card, and if i had a system with only digital games i wouldn't care, i own tons of games on steam. its one of the ups of digital games, they are easily accesible and you don't have to grab your disc/cartridge, its just that i love having my collection physically, mostly cause of the box art, the way you can display it on a shelf, there is just something special about going to the gamestore putting the game on the counter and going back home, even tho it's 10x slower than just going to the eshop
