He was doing 15 years as a felon who had problems moving contraband and weapons due to his position in prison that allowed him high volume of contact and access to parts to do so. He cried while having to strip in public part of the prison because he has made false claims and they do so for his and their safety. Ask anyone who’s done time or jailers. If that inmate slammed the gate and yelled like the end of his story code would have been called and full lock down of the prison to secure the inmate and risk of assault/ murder... he’s lying about it all or most of it for laughs

Yes! I just commented exactly this. I'm also a former CO. I swear some of the Officers I worked with disturbed me more than the inmates.

In my 20's I worked at a homeless shelter and a co-worker, older guy, use to bully and yell at this guys and I couldn't understand why until one day I ran into him and his wife at a restaurant and OG barely said a few words to me aside from introducing me and that was when I put it together and realized he behaved that way at work because he couldn't at home because his wife ran everything. Sixty year old man was overcompensating at work because as you say, he "didn't have control in his home and came to work to feel powerful". I actually began to feel sorry for him more than the guys he barked at because the guys he barked at were probably homeless because they refused to have his sad existence.

Thank you for weighing in. It's hard to judge his behavior if you're not a CO, because obviously it's a rough job with some dangerous people. It's nice to hear someone say that Mitchel's behavior was uncalled for. I like to think that's not the norm.

It appears to me that he is using one of the last bastions of free speech to address a personal injustice like a lot of stand-up entertainers have for years. Imagine you are the one that his story had happened to and it probably won't seem so funny. But that's just my perspective of things and it isn't necessarily correct. Your perspective is just as valid. If you are fortunate enough to have never experienced being dehumanized in such a way you are lucky and I hope you never do have to experience it. Unfortunately I have, too many times, so I just don't find anything about it funny. I only think about not wanting myself or any other person to ever have to experience this kind of situation. When you go through this kind of thing, if it happens too many times or just one really traumatic time, whenever you hear about someone else's ordeal it makes you relive your own ordeal.

Preston, I think (hope) most of the laughter was what is referred to as nervous laughter from people who didnt know how else to react to this horrendous recollection of events. The ɓest comedians are the ones who can tell stories about their life and mesmerize their audience while doing so. Patrice O'Neal, Doug Stanhope come to mind, but Ali has taken ito a new level. I felt this one, the embarrassment, the hopelessness, tĥe rage. Wishing nothing but the best for Ali in the future.
