Thanks for pointing out the differences with direct comparisons, I'm new to the deck's so this was helpful to me~

The Lo Scarabeo version did not substitute the three cardinal virtues - Faith, Hope and Charity - for missing Trump cards, and I think that was the right decision as the symbolism doesn't work properly in the US Games ordering. Also, the Lo Scarabeo version uses the Visconti Sforza deck quite a lot to fill in for the missing cards, which I think works better than the US Games version's use of new paintings. I have no problem with new paintings as such, but these US Games ones just aren't very good. They're garish and stylistically incompatible with the original deck.

I think some of the cards like the Devil and the Tower are different because the original was missing lots of cards and it was up to our contemporary artists and producers of the decks to imagine what those cards looked like originally.

I have the Il Meneghello version of the Modrone and they only reproduced the cards as they exist today so many of the cards are missing.

In regards to the decks, I want to have both, but I am afraid it's not possible at the moment. Because of your review, I liked the Cary-Yale version more except the Coins - they look better in Visconti di Modrone Tarot deck by Lo Scarabeo! I wonder why the cards differ so much, but the Cary-Yale version looks more like an "old" product, and not only because of the signs of age. The visibility of details are not ideal in both decks - I once had Golden Marseilles deck by Lo Scarabeo - the gold foil killed all the details! But some details got lost in Cary-Yale deck because it's old and worn out. What a choice! Still, BOTH decks are beautiful and definitely worth having!

The meneghello version is the one identical to the original. Some of the original cards are available at the Morgan library and museum site. But between those two on your video, I believe the Visconti di modrone version is closer to the original, but still a little different.
