Forgot to take into account the fact that as the population continues to grow, the building would be outgrown fairly quickly, so it would need constant additions. Also, with the amount of money it would take to build that single building, around $200 trillion, you could build multiple floating towns, underwater towns, and spacestead habitats. A spacestead is essentially a giant space station that spins to create artificial gravity and is decked out to replicate an environment on Earth inside. Not to mention that sum of money could also build a few towns on Luna and or Mars. It would be a better idea in many ways to spread out into the cosmos than to immure all of humanity into a glorified termite mound!!

This is good, but there's so much things that doesn't make sense here : - How could we feed ourselves if we are all stuck in a building without any outdoor life anymore ? - How could we protect the building from terrorists attacks if all the humanity is already inside ? - Why would we still need passeport to go to different places in the building if all the human population is reunited in a single country ? - How come we would need artificial oxygene ? There's no windows ? We won't be able to breath air from the outside anymore if the level of water gets too high ?
