A lot of younger kids may not understand the impact this song had. On top of this being a huge hit, it carried a strong message. Sad that he's gone, but Coolio will always be remembered in Hip Hop.

This is a masterpiece. On so many levels. The quality of the lyrical content, the story he is telling, the message, and all being delivered with such heart and conviction. The dynamism between the rap, singing, and the choir is magic. All wrapped up with an incredible and ingenious sample from one of the best musicians the world has ever seen. An absolute master work.

Back then I thought he was in his 20's but he was in his 30's. Almost a decade older than I thought. I was thinking he was born in the early 70's but he was born in the early 60's. Same. I mostly like punk, rock, or metal. Or pop from decades ago. This song is badass. It doesn't have that usual negative low vibrations from heavy hc gangster rap that makes you feel uncomfortable and awkward.
