As fellow Hindu progressives and true liberals, let's be honest here. Congress has NO wealth distribution agenda. It is just a ruse to dent Modi's "ashwamedh" and deny him the 367 mark. Modi will milk this Uncle Sam "volley" to the fullest. The LIC line was actually creativity at its top notch best. I just don't understand Congress and especially pappu's hate against wealth creators in our country. I am from very humble background, hands to mouth type, always studied in government institutions, and now doing good. I made my life by studying and working hard, and i am not ready to pay 50% of my earnings to govt as tax. I am not a modi fan but i can not vote for Congress party either

Sam Pitroda is talking about distribution of wealth of the rich, among the poor...just like they did in Karnataka - taxing Hindu Temples n giving the money among the poor temples n pujaris n also giving Rupees 54cr aid to the already rich Karnataka Waqf Board. Remember Waqf Board is the 3rd largest land owner in India whereas in Muslim Countries Hindus are fleeing after losing their daughters n properties.

They will remain. Probably, in some "Zombie" form, but Congress will remain. They might lose this election badly, but Congress has essentially taken up the Left space in Indian politics. The voter of 2029 or 2034 might not be impressed by "socialist" ideas, but a voter of some distant future when India actually starts hitting the $40k per capita income might move in this direction like the way it is happening in the US. Of course, a lot depends on BJP's politics and its handling of capitalism.

@@sankalp6872 I think BJP made a huge mistake by not announcing that they'll repeal Waqf Property act in their manifesto. Ram Mandir done ✅ , CAA ✅. UCC almost done or atleast started in some states. Whole BJP core ideology done India is an emotional country & only emotions connects everyone. Not development or anything. Modi was just talking about 3rd largest economy, development, infrastructure, manufacturing jobs etc. & Rahul was dividing everyone based on castes Emotion is the opium of the masses & Rahul was dividing Hindus & consolidating his minority votebase which Modi very smartly knew just because he has ears on the ground unlike delusional Rahul & Congress Just thank our stars that Modi is not delusional & takes feedback seriously & completely turned the plot on the Congress But this term he needs to repeal Waqf Property act & have Places of Worship Act Opium for 2029. It took my grandfather’s family of 9 two generations to recover after Indira Gandhi took away most of their lands during land reforms that Indira Gandhi initiated back in the 70s (I think?) with no care or consideration for the medical condition of my grand father, how many young children he had to feed etc. I have heard such horrible stories of my dad’s childhood in the aftermath. And now, inheritance tax on the wealth my dad built over 50-60 years painstakingly as a middle class income tax paying educator? Man, that is cruelty to strike twice on the same generation. Even though it won’t affect him, and he has done a good job with his children, I can imagine what must be going through minds of people who lived through that. The government robbed their wealth when they were children and now they want to rob them again of the wealth they want to pass to future generations.

in the 70's in the state of AP Land Ceiling Act was passed that said a family can't hold more than 8 Acers of fertile land and this Act was made retro effective. I know of of many families that were caught up in this and were fighting court cases for the next 10-15 years and an entire generation lost their productive hours, wealth, time and money

Shekarji, a while ago I promised I would share my family thayir sadam recipe. Since we are talking about inheritance, there’s no better time than now. - 1 cup ponni rice - boiled - Couple of leaves of kadipatta - 2 tbsp oil - 2 teaspoon black mustard seeds - dried red chilli - Dahi - Milk couple of tablespoons Mix cooked ponni rice with dahi, add some yogurt and splash of milk. With the remaining ingredients, do a tadka and pour over the dahi rice. Salt to taste. Enjoy This recipe is invaluable, a recipe I inherited from my grandma. I hope Congress doesn’t come to power and come after me asking for inheritance tax.

@SG I don't get the idea of how you would come to believe that congress manifesto or congress campaign in general has been center-left. It is generally accepted that center-left means providing equality of opportunity while far left means enforcing equality of outcome i.e. equity. In the current election Rahul Gandhi has been continuously talking about things like "Jiski jitni abadi uska utna hak" which is the definition of equality of outcome (i.e. far-left). They have talked about increasing the cap on reservations to match the population levels and also implementing reservations in private sector which even the Supreme Court has said will end any semblance of meritocracy. If that is not far-left then I don't know what is. Trying to enforce Equality of outcome in any way, be it in jobs or in wealth is not only the most destructive thing any government can do, it is also evil. Ideas of far-left are just as evil as those of far-right and have led to the death and destruction of millions of people in the world and yet instead of shunning these ideas and calling anyone who holds them as supporting theft and mass murder we allow them to work as serious social scientists and professors so that they can spread that mind virus into the next generation. IMO the worst thing that happened in the 20th century is that we failed to expose the far-left "intellectuals" as being just as cancerous as the far-right.

Mind you, the inheritance tax will be on the Hindus primarily. This is not a communal statement but one of fact. Muslim inheritance is governed by the Muslim Personal Law Board which is not going to be abolished by the Congress. So this will apply primarily to the Hindus. In any other situation i wouldve said that Modi made a communal speech for electoral purposes but this isnt communal. This is what the Congress manifesto has said. P.S I vote for Modi always. This has given me more than the required motivation to do so yet again
