🥒 ABOUT BEFRS:
Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.
If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

The reason they sell the most to the US is because Americans consume Emu under the name "Turkey Leg" at theme parks, Renaissance faires and similar destinations. If you've ever had a giant Turkey Leg at a theme park, you have eaten emu! (I also used to work at a theme park in Florida and have seen a box in the freezer myself)

Emu feathers are oily so the emu stays dry just like ducks. The Oil comes from the skin. Our old friend Win who could turn anything into a banquet on a wood stove used to hang Emu legs for a few days in the meat house. Then strip the skin, roast the leg and serve it with veggies. Great meals around the shearing quarters table. At the end of the meal there were no complaints

i'm kinda surprised that people doesnt seem to eat chicken gizzard much. in my country it's one of the most commonly-eaten chicken part; usually fried or stir-fried, and it still goes well in any other chicken dishes.

As a I kid, my gran used to make me soup from them. Also my last dog used to love them & I fed her on them often cos it was CHEAP protein! Giblet curry is a nice 1 too!

Those emus protein looks so rich, moist & delicious. I would definitely be interested in eating those emus. With the way America's leaders are giving ones money to stop providing food to our country, those interested could do well supporting the emu farmers. I know I would. Great video 👍 Sonny. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

I'm from this little town in Rhode Island and we have this dish that's regional only to us, it's called spezzi. It's a tomato sauce and hot pepper soup that is made with stewed chicken gizzards. I would love to try an emu gizzard in this dish.

Emu have such a vast array of useful resources. I used to work at a copper wire plant. The very fine copper dust and sludge that the machines produce would cause you to get copper rash. Emu oil is what was given to you by the onsite doctors to draw out the copper and help with itching.
