Very nice. Never thought of using citrus/citric acid for a cleaning. Very interesting pattern after final filing and polish. Thank you for making and sharing this video. For shaping bracelets I usually use an oval instead of a round mandrel, or the horn of my 68kg farrier anvil (long story how I acquired it) or both. An oval fits better to the wrist if it is for arthritis. (Folk medicine that seems to work, some wear copper to help ease pain of arthritis. It seems to change body chemistry. When one first starts wearing the copper, their skin may turn greenish at the spot. Over time that stops and maximum benefit is obtained.)

Watching you fashion the copper bracelet, I thought what if you took the braided wire and wove it in and out between the two straight wires? I feel you would get a new different design when you hammered it. Keep doing your beautiful work ❤️🔥

Love the finished product! I have a suggestion though.. you should reface your anvil and give it a mirror polish, or as close as you can get. This will help the finished product have a much better shine after flattening 🤙🏻I’m a blacksmith so it’s a bit hard to see an anvil that coarse and rusty

No need to rush to quench when annealing copper. Also better to leave wire straight to do the next stages of annealing. Copper work hardens so bending after annealing produces local hardening at the positions where the bends are straightened.

Nice idea twisting thinner gauge wire around thick gauge. You need to work on the evenness though, the loops are quite uneven throughout the whole length. I suggest clamping a single wire into vice and the other end into a cordless drill and spin it until it's completely straight, when you make all your material straight then twist them together. It's better to start with all your stock material straight.
@user-ml3hl6vr4t
@user-ml3hl6vr4t Рік тому
I find the slight uneven twisting and such to be more attractive. It is a genuinely handcrafted original. On the very first wire twisting there was a little wild loop that was a minor bit that could have easily been avoided. It looks like it disappeared during twist though.

This is a very substantial cuff bracelet... very cool! ❤ Beautiful craftsmanship on the bracelet and I like your manual wire twisting technique. It's quite clever to use an allen wrench as a crank (I wish I'd thought of it! 😄). I already have twisted wire waiting for a project like this but not sure my kitchen torch will provide sufficient heat. I may have to practice making a less substantial cuff instead... or use silver. Thanks so much for sharing! 😊
