Yes, it was the apostle John who was having the vision, and in the vision he was standing on the sand of the sea (NOT the dragon!). I don't read the NIV, but I guess this is what it says? I don't believe that translation is a good one.

Like I said the NAS Bible uses the word " he " ( meaning the Dragon ) instead of " I " ( meaning John ). What I also found interesting was his remarks about Islam being the predominant religion during the Tribulation. This makes sense to me because the Jews will be confined to a small area. The Christians will be gone in the Rapture. Islam will therefore be the most predominant religion left on earth. Islam is a more militaristic type of religion that would fit better with the plans of Satan. This present Pope has been trying to unite these religions, even claiming that there is more than way to Heaven. I do believe that the Dragon and his adminstration will use whatever religion is available to accomplish their goals, but I think under the surface they are a religion amongst themselves.

That's a good point! I have to say, I have been enjoying this Revelation series up to this point, but a few things bother me in this sermon, that don't ring true to me. First, apparently the NIV says that the dragon stands upon the sands of the sea?! (it was the apostle John who in his vision was standing upon the sands of the sea). Second, I don't think Islam will be the Antichrist religion. I don't know where the pastor gets that idea from. And now this point you brought up regarding Satan, and when he fell. I know there is no one person who interprets scripture perfectly, so I won't say I don't trust him anymore. But this sermon definitely had my Holy Spirit discernment at full attention!

Throughout the entire book, an account is given of everything that he saw, which he was instructed by the angel to write down. So it was he, John, who stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up, which he then went on to describe in detail. My KJV Bible says "he", and by doing a quick search on other translations, I didn't see any that said "the dragon" stood upon the the sand of the sea. Weird. I'm not sure where the pastor got that from, unless he just read it wrong, but he said it several times? So, that's why it matters!

@@christinelamb1167 He may have gotten it from the NIV, NASB or the Amplified Bible, because they say the dragon stood upon the sand of the shore. Some Bibles even leave that part of the verse entirely out. But the KJV and several others do make it sound like it is John that sees the beast. You are right, it does matter, it makes a big difference if it was John or the dragon who stood on the shore. There is a way to find out if John or the dragon stood on the shore, if we look deeper into the context. Do you think that this scripture means that the beast comes out of the literal sea?

* Where did you ever get the idea that Satan was the one watching over the Garden of Eden? God put man in charge of the Garden ( Gen. 1:26, 2:15 ). Lucifer was the covering Cherubim over the throne of God. God changed his name to Satan after sin was found in him. If I find a passage in the Bible that specifically tells when Satan fell from Heaven, I'll get back to you. If you read some of the other ancient biblical writings like the Book of Enoch, you'll find the answer to your question.

I just started listening To this pastor preaching this morning so I could be wrong, but I believe it is because the Jewish temple will finally be rebuilt prior to the AntiChrist coming to power and there will be 3.5byears of the 2 witness ( Christians) preaching the word of God extremely powerfully in the Jewish temple. The Jewish people will want these 2 witnesses gone. But they will be protected by god. Anyone who tries to harm them will die from fire that comes from the two witnesses mouths. However, after 3 and a 1/2 years, the a Anti Christ will come to power and he will be able to take down the 2 witnesses and end their lives. And then he will enter the Jewish temple and proclaim himself as their leader. And due to him taking down the 2 witnesses and giving them back their temple, they will then follow him.

From our perspective the antichrist by his actions is showing He is God. The Mahdi is like their savior. Allah means Ascending, and that is what Satan wanted to do - ascend to the throne of the Most High. which he does... Islam means submission to Allah. All you have to say is that you submit, and basically, now you are Muslim. So people will submit to the dominant economic system, regardless of what's backing it. The religions that overshadow a region are seen as a cultural aspect, not a means of survival.

REV 20:4-5 Says that the Saints who died during the Tribulation will be resurrected at the second coming. I Thess 4 says that the rapture happens after the dead in Christ rise. Matthew 24 says that the elect are gathered in the heavens after the tribulation. Dan 12 says that those written in the book of life are rescued after the Tribulation. John 6:40 says the ones who believe on Jesus will be raised on the last day. John 11:24 ..."He will rise to life on the last day..." II Thess 2 says that we will be raptured sometime after the Abomination of desolation is set up. John 6:54 Jesus says those who take his flesh and blood (figuratively) will be raised on the last day. Actually, it is almost endless. every prophesy about resurrection and rapture indicate that it comes after the tribulation.

Some people get confused about what Paul wrote to the Church at Thessalonica (2 Thes. chapter 2 ). In this chapter Paul is reminding the Church about what he had told them in 1Thes. 4:13--5::11. They were concerned that they had missed the rapture, but Paul told them that if that were true they would be seeing the events of the Tribulation. A lot of people just fail to study the scriptures as they should. Here's another error that people make. There are 2 gospels given for 2 different groups of people in the NT. The first one mentioned is the one that Jesus Christ and His Disciples preach solely to the Jewish Nation of Israel ( Matt.4:23, 9:35, 10:5--7, and elsewhere ). This gospel is called the Gospel of the Kingdom, and since Jesus was rejected, this Gospel will not be implemented until the Millennium. The second gospel was given to Paul to take only to the gentile nations more than 10 years after the Crucifixion and is called amongst other names the Gospel of the Grace of God ( Acts 20:24 ). This Gospel is the only pathway that gentile believers have in order to gain salvation. Paul's writings therefore ( Romans through Philemon ) are critical for the gentile believer. Both of these two gospels will unite the Jew and the gentile at the start of the Millennium, but the pathways taken by these two groups are very different. The reason there are differences can be found in Romans chapter 11, particularly verse 11. Paul and the Jerusalem Disciples had disagreements that took awhile to get straightened out ( read Galatians ). A lot of the confusion, particularly about the rapture and the events of the Tribulation, result because people do not recognising there are differences. They try to make what the Disciples were teaching the Jewish people conform to what Paul was ministering to the gentile people. If one keeps the events separated the events fall perfectly in order. By making a list of the characteristics of each account, it's plain to see that they can not be the same event, they must be two different events. Hope this will help someone.

There are a few things people interpret to mean Rome, but when you look at EVERY point is can only be the revived Islamic Caliphate, headed up by Turkey (Agog/the Assyrian.)

My theory (although I admit my knowledge of the Bible is still growing and my knowledge of the Koran is almost nothing) is that Satan took what was written in the Bible and created a religion that would warp the book of revelation and make the tribulation seem like a good thing. Hence the religion he made sees the suffering of Jews and Christians who won’t leave their faith as a good thing

Not everything in the koran is untrue. Many stories are straight from the old testament with changes and tweaks here and there to suit their message

One thing I don’t understand about Muslims is if they love Jesus and the God of the Bible, then why do they hate Israel? It’s at least very clear that the God of the Bible loves Israel and even the end times prophesies in the Bible clearly say in Ezekiel that an evil plan will come about by a Russian ruler who will form a coalition of Muslim countries to attack Israel. And we can see this already happening in foreign policy right now. The countries listed as part of the coalition against Israel are: Iran, Sudan, Libya, Algeria, Turkey, and some other northern African and middle eastern countries we can’t pinpoint since the prophecy identifies the coalition by geological locations/ancient names we cannot say for certain what nations represent by them. If we believe the Bible, then we know in the last days a coalition of mostly Muslim countries are going to try to take out Israel. So, sorry, but we can’t believe them when they say their religion is purely peaceful. I’ve also heard many times that the Muslim faith says that people who refuse to convert should be killed. I know that I sound harsh, but I really don’t say this in an antagonistic way. I love Muslims and I have visited Israel and one part that is controlled by Palestinians and feel extremely sad and sorry for Muslims stuck in a situation where they’re poor and mistreated. As a Christian, I do not condone mistreatment at all. And the God of the Bible doesn’t either, it says that, in Leviticus 19:33-34, “When a stranger [non-Jew] resides with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. The stranger who resides with you shall be to you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt; I am the Lord your God.” The Bible is clear that currently the Jews in Israel right now are not yet spiritually with God. The Bible prophesied that Israel would become a nation again, which was fulfilled in 1948. And then after that there’s more prophesies that are yet to be fulfilled. But, the pieces are moving in place right now. Russia has been making alliances with Iran, Turkey, etc. just as the prophecy said it would. And all these countries do not like Israel. It’s very clear that they’re going to attack Israel just like the God of the Bible foretold. They need to pay attention, because God promised He will show the nations He is real and that the other religions are not, by saving Israel from this attack. I love Muslims and feel for them. God loves them too, just as He loves us other non-Muslim gentiles. I’ve had to swallow my own knowledge of my family in the past not believing in the God of the Bible and knowing they were wrong about things. I know it’s probably much more difficult for a Muslim, but it’s not like God doesn’t punish Israel for falling away from God. They’ve endured more persecution than most nations and at the very least, pretty much the whole world seems to always resent them. Basically, I see the Jews as representing all of us. If God had picked any other group of people, we would have done the same thing, would have turned away from God over and over again. And I think God picked the Jews because they were such a small nation that by all means should be insignificant. Yet, even after thousands of years, they’re the hot topic of conversation. It demonstrates God’s power because without God it would be impossible. And I think God always reaching out to Israel again and again shows His love for all humanity. That even when we fail over and over again, if we just turn back to Him we’re welcomed again. It’s like the story in the Bible of the disobedient son and how the father celebrated when his son finally came back home and the other obedient son was jealous. But the father explains that the disobedient son was punished for his disobedience, and that the obedient son would receive his reward for being more obedient, but that they both are loved and accepted when they return back home. But yeah, we Christians love both Muslims and Jews. We just know that Jesus is the bridge to the divide among all faiths. And so we wish them to get to know Christ.

A person from Israel, when asked to write their name, might put down, שָׁלוֹם. That would leave an English speaker confused. What do you call the person? How do you even say that? SO, they might TRANSLITERATE the name ...that is, write the same word out in English letters that make the same, or nearly the same sounds. They would write ''Shalom." Or, better yet, they could TRANSLATE it. They could use an English word or words that have the same meaning. In that case they would say, "My name is Peace." The NAME of the Son of God is translated, "Salvation," or "God is Salvation." It also contains the name of GOD, indicating that God is his father, and/or that he is the priest of God. "God with us." The Hebrew name of the Son of God ( יְהוֹשׁוּעַ ) was TRANSLITERATED - not translated - to make the Greek: Ἰησοῦν. That was TRANSLITERATED to the English, "Iosues." This was changed to 'Jesus' because 'J' was a new letter that they were apparently quite fond of. IF we skip the Greek transliteration and go back to transliterate the Hebrew name we get 'Yehoshua.' The very common shortening of this name was Yeshua or Y'Shua. The best information on the NAME of GOD, the father, is YHVH. In ancient Hebrew there were no vowels. People just knew how to pronounce it, but there was a commandment not to take the name lightly. Therefore, saying it out loud was not allowed except in very specific cases. The pronunciation was lost after the Temple was destroyed. All we have left are the consonants. We guess the rest. It WASN'T "Jehovah" because there was no 'J" sound in ancient Hebrew. The KJV translated the words FROM the languages in which GOD himself caused them to be written. NONE, not one word of the Bible was written in English. The idea that the KJV translators knew better than the Holy Spirit what the name of the Lord of all Creation should be is the very reason people fear that KJV-Onlyism is idolatry.
