I was hoping this was going to be scaled by volume of fresh water in each country, was hyped to see Canada beat everyone. Having over 99% access to potable water works too though, we're only not 100% due to how remote some of our towns can get.

Well I think countries like the USA are more impressive. The reason? The saturation of people over the area is greater than many other places. The USA is large and most of it's land has a good number of people living on it instead of them being saturated in one area. Contrast that to Canada which has the majority of it's population living near it's southern border, so the requirement for drinking water is less strained over a concentrated area. Similar things for smaller countries where the total area is not big at all so it's much easier to supply drinking water to everyone. The Philippines is a good example of just too much being in the way of providing clean drinking water.

Dissing about 97.33% is silly. Some people choose to live in remote isolated homes like in the wilderness in the rockies or in remote Alaska. EU doesn't really need to worry about that.
