today we will show you our new machine from Creality, the CP-01.
This machine is a 3 in 1 tool, which means we have a 3D printer, a laser, and a CNC engraver all in one.

Jack of all trades. Master of none. Interesting idea. Would be cool if you could 3D print a rough item, use the milling head to finalize it and then engrave something on it with the laser. Maybe in the future.

Will be boxing up and returning my CP-01 tomorrow. Runs very quietly, when you can get it to run. Wouldn't read SD cards, except the one that came with it.Bought an external card reader for my Mac and 3 new SD cards. Each card worked 1 time, then would no longer work. Tried quick formatting, overwrite formatting, still no luck. Software included is for windows, so I downloaded Mac software off Creality's website, which wouldn't open. Milling head was missing the screws that hold the motor in, so motor was rolling around, which damaged the circuit board. Had a big green OK sticker on it, like it had been quality checked, though. Bed was very high in the middle, which could probably be fixed if I was going to keep it. The touch screen was very nice, as well as the ability to micro-adjust the z axis while the first layer was going down. But I'd like to be able to print more than the rabbit, pikachou, and flexi-cat files that it comes with.

Just got one during black Friday for around 350$, I figured it was not too much of a rip-off. Thanks for the video, this is definitely the most detailed on UKposts! I knew the CNC could work with proper bits, your results are pretty good and I'm sure there's more ways to improve like changing this huge and long drill head for a proper clamp and why not, putting in a faster motor since 4800rpm is quite slow (my Dremel goes from 5000 to 35000, maybe I'll just try to mount it instead of the provided head). I also need to figure out how to generate CNC gcode that can make the head to move on the Z axis during milling. I really don't understand why Creality didn't make a proper software for this, 2D picture is very limited. I'm also wondering why the imported picture is not vectorized when using grayscale or black&white and why they made the final picture being 1 pixel = 1mm since the head can move in 0.1mm increments. This doesn't make sense and reduces the laser engraving quality by a lot. The provided software is really bad, I'm sure that with a bit of work, we can achieve way better results with Fusion for example.

Yours is far and away the best CP01 set up guide ANYWHERE. Thanks, on behalf of us unwitting buyers. This has been the worst, most depressing investment I have made this decade. Creality has been so UN-helpful that I think the healthiest thing I can do is to put the machine out in the garage, and cover it with a garbage bag. Try to forget it ever happened. $630 write-off. I never even got to try the CNC and laser heads...no Mac software. BTW: my right rear level adjuster has to be fully pulled DOWN.....the spring compressed solid....the wheel cranked hard against the stop.. The other corners have some adjusting range ( once I raised the z limit switch.) The right rear cannot be lowered enough to just drag on the paper. NOW THE BED WON’t heat above 47 degrees...I wonder if, when the extruder tip shorted against the glass-holding clip, it shorted the bed heater. Everything here is a small step forward, and two large steps back.

Arturo Fuentes No! I like the print head. I has little tendency to clog. However, Creality’s manufacturing Quality Control is very poor. You will spend the first half-day re-doing what should have been done at the factory and/or corrected in QC. Creality customer service is not very supportive. This unit is getting two stars on Amazon. I no longer see it offered on their website....parts will be (are) a problem.. I did see a $499 printer that does the 3 functions, but prints in TWO COLORS. the laser and CNC functions on these are pretty weak...only demonstrating the potential.

A laser head and CNC head that cant cut is pretty much useless to me, however as an introductory device to a novice this is ideal. I think that a well equipped CNC machine with a large bed and tool swap for just a laser and no 3d print or a 3d print with a reduced Z-axis is a much more appealing product IMO

I have moulds i made to make plaster ornaments. Will the program/s for this printer, level them out so they BOTH lay flat AND are the same thickness through out ? OR is there a compatible program/s that will ? That don't cost as much as the printer itself ? Thanks

There is not yet a CP01 profile on Cura, but the platform is small, and some profiles start the print at the bitter edge....What profile to use??

Caution: my CP01 touched the extruder tip to the clip that holds the glass plate. It sparked and shorted out, killing the print head. Creality has taken 3 weeks just to agree to replace the print head....but they say it will be a LONG time coming. Since the CNC and laser software don’t run on Mac, the whole machine is inert until that arrives. The work platform was not attached as it arrived, but was dangling from its cord. The two wheels on the Y carriage were not tightened at all. The carriage would twist on the rails. Those four screws under were a BEAR to get to...I had to use the small cap screws in the box, after the thumbscrews fell out. Other than useless, the machine looks good in principle. Direct drive extruder?? It should print well. Using the xyz precision for more than printing things makes sense. Creality rushed this to market....skipped Quality Control?? They were trying to beat Snapmaker. Give it time to mellow a bit....too frustrating now. I was sadly disappointed by the Customer Service support....$630 going to gather dust until they respond. Meanwhile, I bought a Sovol SV01, and am printing merrily.

It's only for engraving. You can probably be able to cut material like dark tape or similar thin materials but that's it.

I do find that the CP01 print head to be free of clogs. It could be the double gear drive on the extruder feed. My Sovol is constantly getting clogs, although they say their new hot end stops that.

And now, the SD card that has the software, etc has developed a wart....a bump. It will not read.

ruiraptor Thanks. I appears that the bump was caused by sharp little puppy teeth. I have requested a replacement. I have noticed that the 3 thumb scres holding the print head work lose. The print head is flopping around. The print head SHOULD be a good one...direct drive, with little propensity to clog...straight through. If only it would heat. Oh, well....wait for replacement..
