This was life changing for me. I was enraged at first. Then I realized I was angry soley because how foolish I was and how easily I fell for it. I had no issue dismissing all the red flags because I wanted it to be true. This film was one of the first to help me realize that I wasn't as smart as I thought I was and how able and willing I was to buy a lie.

My wife and I watched last night. Completely thought it was real until I saw something very unusual at the end; Walt Disney holding Micky's hand! I was like, "They didn't ware suits then, and that's fricken mickey mouse!" WELL DONE! Very impressed! Loved it!

Well done! I just watched this for the third time and only now read the comments to see, if this was factual. The making of this film must have cost a fortune. To deposit this art on the seabed, just to bring it back up again to be filmed. Mindboggling. Even when watching this the first time, I thought the art itself looked very modern in some cases. The faces especially. I've never seen an egyptian statue with closed eyes, for example. And there were two! And I wondered how those huge statues could survive standing upright on the seabed?! I guess my common sense and general knowledge knew from the beginning, that this isn't true. Shows how much I wanted it to be true and how much the narrative influenced my judgment. Do I still want to get the catalogue? Hell yeah!

Hook, line and sinker. I enjoyed every minute of this perfectly cultivated journey to the hearts of all of us childhood treasure hunter dreamers out there. Not gonna lie, I was ready to buy a plane ticket until I died of hysterical laughter with the glimpse of Mickeys ears. I really enjoyed the ride. Thank you Damien!

What is with the comments about this being fake then? Is this not a true documentary? Also the statue of the man holding corn is confusing me. Corn was not introduced to Europe until the 1400s

I gotta admit I bought this hook, line and sinker right up until the end. There were plenty of warnings which I ignored. Being a diver I was curious how they preserved so much of the colors of the coral, urchins and worm casings. When they were carrying the large gold works of art I thought wow they must be really strong to carry that much gold so easily, but still ignored my sense of reality. The statue of the bear with the screaming man with outstretched arms standing on its head was insane and seemed too modern to me. The monkey with the corn cob was odd as was the gold transformer statue. When I glimpsed the "Made in China" stamp my mind was screaming WTF?? The statue of Mickey still in the water at the end looked so out of place I thought I was just interpreting an old work of art through simple eyes. It wasn't until I went to the comments did I realize it was really just another Hollywood movie making it truly Treasures of the Unbelievable.

You have to listen to the opening of the movie as he's talking he's telling you it's fake but it's what you believe to be real through the movie. This is what's called a psychological vivid imagination implant movie..😂😂 basically what this is is it put together from the psychological perspective and there's holes and gaps left. There are Easter eggs and teasers to have you believing that something is real but those Easter eggs are there to show you that that is not a real thing but an object skated view because you have new age visuals mixedwood supposed old age ancient archaeological history😅😅😅 so they basically put the real in front of you but at the same time I giving you the substructure to allow your imagination to take the movie wherever you want to take it😅😅😅 it's actually a CIA kind of operation that they do with all of us here in America they're basically putting in a movie form and showing you how f*****-up things really are it's meant for you to wake up it's trying to get you to see how intelligent you are

Damien Hirst is a British artist known for his controversial and provocative works, often exploring themes of life, death, and the fragility of existence. Born in Bristol, England, in 1965, Hirst rose to prominence in the art world during the 1990s as part of the Young British Artists (YBAs) movement. Hirst gained significant attention for his installation art, sculptures, and conceptual pieces. One of his most well-known works is "The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living," which features a preserved shark suspended in formaldehyde. This piece, along with others in his "Natural History" series, challenged traditional notions of art and provoked discussions about mortality and the human condition.

Good addition to UKposts, because there are so many docs here, but this one gets you thinking about docs in general. Yeah, I have to admit the mouse object was where I really connected the dots. I'd be curious to know where an expert would start? Right away? Styles were the first thing I noticed, then scales and detailing under the coral.

My good friend has the gallery book from this show. It's truly amazing work. The detailed craftsmanship in all the coral and worm-damage is really beautifully done. Sorry they didn't note that this is all "fake" in the channel notes. This is the video that would play in the gallery where the show was being held and it is a work of fiction and artistry as much as anything else in the show. I can understand how some people would feel cheated or misled if they don't know the context of the video. To be fair, my friend did show me the gallery book as a bit of a joke to see how long it would take before I figured out that it was an exhibit of modern art.

I just found out this was fake the other day, I watched it when it first came out and had always believed it to be real as it was released as a documentary. I have seen many other very famous mockumentaries but I was always aware going in that that's what they were, Dragons, Mermaids, Megalodon, etc. I have to say finding out this was fake has left rather a bad taste in my mouth, upon rewatching it with that in mind I have noticed several telltale giveaways which I never noticed before, how effortlessly they carry the "gold" items (I have held an actual gold bar recovered from a Spanish treasure galleon, gold is insanely heavy!), the fact that somehow all of the delicate coral remained intact during lifting and that the coral never lost it's color, and at the end I don't know how I missed the statue of Mickey Mouse. I have no problem with mockumentaries, in fact I enjoy them, my problem here is the feeling that I was lied to, the feeling that I was being purposely mislead by this artist. In an age where misinformation runs rampant I believe that people who make these kinds of mockumentaries need to be very clear and very upfront that that's what they are. I was a kid when Dragons: A Fantasy Made Real came out and I remember people losing their minds over it thinking we had found actual proof of dragons but even as a kid I knew (probably due to trailers and ads prior to release) that it was a what if scenario and not actually real. People who just saw the film with no context believed it was real but there was context available and for me at least it was made very clear that it was fake. My problem with this mockumentary is that there was no context at the time of release and it was released as a documentary. I've only discovered the truth now as I randomly searched for the documentary on Google as I couldn't recall the title and then saw all these articles about how it was a hoax. I think there needs to be greater accountability and responsibility of tv channels and streaming services to verify and make clear whether something is real or not.
