I watched this live and was blown away. Had to watch it again. This has to be one of the most impressive displays of power tennis I've ever seen. Med used his massive 1st serve even on his 2nd serves most of the time, and hit killer groundstrokes that pushed Djoker around all over the court. I get it that he had massive pressure on him to complete a calendar slam, but you gotta give full credits to Medvedev for an unbelievable match.

I love their hug at the end. They have so much respect and appreciation for each other.

It's great that the whole match is posted, but some interesting moments were not captured, like when Nole started crying during the changeover at 5-4 in the 3rd, when he probably was overwhelmed by the support of the crowd, and at the same time coming to the realization that he couldn't win.

Daniil was locked in! He learned from his mistakes against him at the Australian Open earlier this year that’s for sure. Congrats to him! 👏🏼🎾🏆. I’m so proud of him!

Rewatching this video just after the 2023 US Open, I see two main differences between these two matches: 1. Medvedev was much fresher in 2021, while Djokovic was fresher in 2023. This helped each player win rallies during their victory. You can see this in their 2nd serve win %. Meddy won this stat by 30% in 2021, and lost it by 15% in 2023. Djokovic grew tired halfway through the 2023 match, otherwise, he would've won this stat by a similar margin. 2. Medvedev served amazingly in 2021, while Djokovic protected his serve amazingly in 2023. Djoker's serve and volleying allowed him to win all service games except one in 2023, while Meddy's incredible serving helped him do the same in 2021.

Medvedev has such a calm mindset for situations. His reaction after winning ATP Finals just shows this 😮

It's interesting how Djokovic finally had a crowd heavily in his favor, and he got destroyed. Maybe the Djokovic fans should stop complaining about crowds being anti-Djokovic because it might actually be a key to his success.

There is a reason this hasn't been done in over 50 yrs and especially since 4 different surfaces and the Open era ( AO and USO hard courts are different speeds and different composite material, they play different). NM the press coverage and duties compared to 50yrs ago. You cannot escape the pressure cooker. Laver said he really didn't start thinking about the GS in 69 till the semifinal of the US after he won the match. Novak was doomed from the start. The last person he wanted to play in the world was there waiting in the final for him and Meddy proved why he's number 2 in the world w a bullet.

Watched this live, 35:30 could've been the turning point for Djokovic. Medvedev had nerves of steel here - 3 break points saved. Pretty incredible

This match made me realize that the only thing the big 3 currently have over everyone else is experience. When they play against the likes of Thiem, Medvedev, Tsitsipas, and Zverev in grand slam semifinals/finals, their opponents get nervous and start missing shots and they capitalize. However Medvedev kept his cool here.

Медведев является, если не первооткрывателем, то уж точно тем Мастером, который довёл до совершенства один тактико-стратегический приём, который помог ему подняться на вершину спортивного олимпа. А именно... 7-8 ударов из десяти в розыгрыше на задней линии приходятся в левую для соперника половину корта и глубоко под заднюю линию. Важной особенностью является то, что Даня наносит удары не в угол и не косо, а в точку в полтора-два метра от боковой линии, заставляя противника ,,плясать,, вокруг мяча без возможности забежать под атакующий форхенд, а бэкхенд пробивать с места - без движения к мячу. Этот приём в теннисе называется ,,посадить на пятки,,... Целью данного приёма является лишение соперника игровой инициативы, возможности играть в свою игру. а так-же нарушение психологического равновесия, потерю уверенности в своих действиях, ведущую к росту количества невынужденных ошибок. Я сам грешен - ругался и психовал глядя на эту ,,тупую,, игру в одну точку. Но ведь приём срабатывал раз за разом... Тогда я поставил себя на место его соперников и сразу всё понял!!! Они точно так-же психуют от ,,тупой.. игры Медведева!!! И как вишенка на торте - завершение розыгрыша очка - либо ошибка соперника, либо завершающий удар Медведева под право сопернику, то есть под сильную руку... А это для любого теннисиста самое обидное событие. Данный технико-тактический приём есть в арсенале любого крепкого теннисиста, но пока только Даниил Медведев сумел столь блестяще им воспользоваться.
