I actually am very close friends with Ronnie's family, I don't know them in real life but when the whole McNutt suicide went around I felt like I had to do something. I just thought it was disgusting how people made memes and even merch, yes I said it even merch out of his passing! So I started TiK ToK by spreading Awareness on TikTok about veterans with PTSD. Ronnie was a war veteran with severe PTSD and depression, he was unfortunately extremely intoxicated while live streaming that night before he took his life. He initially misfired the gun in the beginning which prompted everyone to call him but towards the end his girlfriend did call him and said something like, I don't know how to help you. So yes, it did trigger him... that's when he said the infamous last words "hey guys I got it" and shot himself. I was mostly disgusted with people making him out to be some sort of joke and resending the video to family, to this day the family tells me that they still get videos and memes about Ronnie's videos and gore stuff. How vile do you have to be to do this gross shit? It's the same generation that will cancel you for saying something offensive 25 years ago, but this is okay.

The fact that you didn't know who that school shooter is was actually kind of heartwarming. We as a society have gotten to a place where we don't glorify people like that on a massive scale, we barely report on the actual perpetrator instead choosing to support the victims and their memory. As a result we don't know who the killer was and they don't get to be famous for that heinous act. There are still pockets of people and forums that try to keep that romanticizing alive but we've come a long way from the days of Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. Mass shootings like that just aren't appealing to us enough anymore to give them power. Like I said, hearing that this happened and not knowing who the guy was is powerful, they want to be remembered and be in the spotlight. Depriving them of it just warms my cold little heart. @Kay E That’s kind of their point... Social media, lack of consequences, and “acceptance” of literally anything is fairly new, just like this clout chasing behavior of the average person nowadays. The observation is that people tend to be more unhinged nowadays than they used to be (it seems to be more of a problem now). Beating your 3 year old child to death then mourning their death on Tik Tok for views isn’t really explained by being “evil” or “mad”, but it is explained by the natural human desire to be accepted and recognized, in which our current society seems to favor these types of people (probably because those who are giving them the attention they want crave this type of entertainment due to the fact it seems distant to them. There is a reason why many people like things like True Crime, most people are intrigued by things that are morbid and because it most likely never impacted their own life they couldn’t care less about who was harmed).

What is so shit, is that you may shield them from social media when they're at home, but when they go to elementary or middle school they'll get exposed to that stuff from other kids whom parents don't care if they use social media. Women idolized famous serial killers too, all the way back to like the 70s and 80s
@justinebpheartssРік тому
It's usually due to the built behavior of "fixing people", tending to stem from parents that that you wish were better yet you couldn't "save". This is a very common problem for young teens as nobody addresses that mental health still makes you accountable for your actions, just that it exists. Happens with shows, webcomics, fanfiction, art, etc. However, these teens tend to grow out of it or begin to have real life romantic relationships. Majority are like this, however you'll see it occasionally in adults, usually women. And also, it's not the worst thing ever. I have seen a lot of videos on historical gore-filled events and the actions that a human can take. Some don't even see a day in prison. Romantizing shitty people isn't a good thing but the issue stems from mental health problems usually in dumb teenagers that grow out of it, and I would have more issue with the fact that we never strive to discuss mental health with children and teenagers, so this could be a consequence prevented.
