@ferzy09 If you think you can do a better job of coaching, get out from behind your computer and do it, instead of trying to judge how he's a bad fit. Simona isn't winning anything without him. He's coached 3 different players to GS titles and the #1 ranking. You try to do better.

​@ferzy09 Simona was nowhere close to being #1 when she was 22, even if Serena was out of the picture. Winning a GS > grand slam finalist. She would have 0 GS without Darren as her coach. Like I said, get out from behind your computer and coach if you think Darren has done nothing for her. Darren's coached 3 players now to the #1 ranking and GS titles. What have you done, besides complain about how he's coached?

Same here. First noticed her in 2013 when she got to the Rome SF as a qualifier. I liked her style and was amazed at how she was able to do it being so small. And she just took off from there. She didn't pop on everyone's radar with big breakthrough win. She had a steady rise. Learning to win. Learning to win titles. Learning to beat the higher-ranked players. She put in the work and effort to be recognized as one of the top players today. And you're right. There were a lot of highs and lows, and triumphs and disappointments. And though losing the first 3 GS finals had to hurt, she always picked herself back up and tried again, and it finally paid off. I actually cried when she won the French Open. I was so happy to see her get past that hump. And now she's got another slam. Two GS, 20 titles, two-time year end #1, and holds the longest top 10 streak for a player born in 1980 or later. And to be in the top 10 for over 6 years now is no small feat. I always think she's underappreciated as people like the more flashier players or ones with the big serve or powerful groundstrokes. But pound for pound, Simo is, without a doubt, one of the best in the world.

What will happen now to coach Daniel Dobre? Is he still part of the team?

@@camira3283 I think Evelyn is saying exactly what he/she said and is visible for everyone who visits the country: infrastructure, mentalities, level of civilization, etc, are all way behind other EU countries, such as France, Germany, Italy, etc. It's not about the geography, sights, mountains, woods, plains, sea... it's about people and how they behave, on average... how they think, how they do things, how well they take care of their country, how much trash you see in the streets, how polite they are, how helpful, how smiling... you sound like someone who's never been outside the country... or, if you have, you are surely only pretending not to understand what Evelyn said...
