This was around the time de la Hoya started being an alcoholic and did drugs. Probably because he was burned out from his last fight against may weather(which he should have won) You could tell he didn’t give not even half of what he had in this fight, he simply didn’t have it in him. I would say after this fight: superstar. After Hatton fight: legend. After Cotto fight: all time great. In every broadcast of the Pacquiao vs Cotto fight, the announcers we're saying Pacquiao is one of the greatest fighters of all time when that fight finished. He challenged himself coming from a smaller weight class and totally destroyed other hall-of-fame caliber fighters. I'd put Pacquiao as the 2nd or 3rd greatest pound for pound fighter EVER, and you could even make a case for number 1. A former Flyweight winning linear titles in 8 divisions is absolutely insane- especially since he skipped a couple.
