Awesome clear description on how to use these motors to generate electricity!!!

Awesome project! I used to find these in my apartments dumpster sometimes and most of the time they still worked, IDK why they were thrown away but whatever. They put out enough voltage to shock you when you touch 2 phases. Awesome project

To use these as a generator. Hook the wires to diodes. Use 6 of them rated for at least 3A. Wire 3 diodes with the polarity going in and 3 diodes with the polarity going out. It is a 3 phase rectifier. Keep the frame and trim as needed for your project. With moderate spinning it makes about 24V at 2A. The open circuit voltage can get as high as 60V so you definitely need a voltage regulator or converter with these. They make awsome peddle power generators. Recommend using a capacitor and wide compliance DC to DC converter module. Also a voltage regulator for a riding lawnmower works good for charging 12V batteries with a windmill.❤

This type of motors an be converted in motor-generator, leave 1 phase in place as it is and disconnect the other 2. Disconnected phase will go for output wired in parallel, dump in a cap bank and for there use half bridge (one wire system) with one to feed back the motor (phase left in place) while the rest is to power whatever you need. This type of motors are very powerful and when 3 phase are used makes 3 motors in one. Just disconnect all other circuits and make your one, eventually if batteries are in good condition use them instead of cap bank. Magnets might need to be repositioned or replaced if output do not sustain the motor and same extra … ideally 36 coils with 12 magnets in such arrangement that 1 powered phase will have at least 1 induced phase on two coils diametrical opposed. To see easy how they go make two cardboard circles, 1 for magnets and 1 for coils, make different arrangements until they reach desired position, in such way to make a pump mechanism on diameter, one shrinking and the opposite growing, than next set, than next, while 1-2 magnets reach the powered coils from phase 1. So, no need to go for wind power.
