KDB is one of the best midfielders of all time, in my opinion. Hearing his story (i didn't knew shit apart from the Cortouis situation) just made me respect him even more. He could have just given up, but he powered through, and became one of the defining players of his generation. Inspiring stuff.

So my two takeawys are 1) when he played with anger he was really good, when he played with love he's unstoppable. Love over everything people and 2) surround yourself with the right people, in KdB's case his wife and Pep and you give yourself the foundation to achieve great things. But mine was people who made me miserable at school who are now on benefits and I'm working at a fast food restaurant and on a decent wage. What a compelling story. Soccer was my first love of ALL loves. It was my passion, so I can totally relate to his quest. Soccer was the one thing I excelled at. It seriously took my brain away from the abuse I was receiving at home. Three times I injured my knee severely starting In tenth grade and subsequently two more times and finally had to forgo soccer once and for all. Knee replacement on Thursday 9, June 2022. You forgot to mention the tragady of the late junior Malanda, he was also a big Belgium talent and good friend (probably that friend who made him connect with his wife). Both played togheter at wolfsburg. Malanda died in 2015 in a car crash while on the way to pick Kevin up at the airport.
