I am kicking myself for dumping about 200+ 100%/no skills crew this winter - all those promotional rentals over the years. I understand from test those crews have had their free to 100% XP put on their first skill ~83%) and they would give books.

Idk why skill didnt do this Monday. Would have really helped us NA and ASIA players.

Wargamming has confused the hell out of how crews are handled....

They let you overflow the barracks as much as you want when the new patch comes. Source: NA player, I just did it three-dozen times while clearing out my barracks.

Tested on NA server, even if your barracks is full, you can still send unneeded crews to the barracks to do the conversion.

Everyone seems to be missing the key advantage to this - which is to leverage existing crew books into a multiplication on the conversion - and then using the free training to export them back to 2 crew tanks because a 6 person crew moved into 3x 2 person crews gets 3 time the XP in books.. IE Convert ALL your crew into 2 person vehicles in the barracks 1) Pre 1.24.1 Make sure you have lots of avail crew under the 100base / 75% (ish) 1perk to correspond to existing crew book stocks. Buy crew if you need. Cheapest at the 2 crew tanks, but works with more. ie, 40K credits = the cost at the 2 crew, but you can leverage at higher crew/tank. buy FREE crew if you have a lot of books 2) After 1.24.1 - move and retrain crew onto a 6 crew tank. its free... 3) use existing books to retrain the 6 crew tank by putting books up to the max without going over. ie, 100base, 98%ish max. 4) Move the crew into a 2 crew tank, and retrain them (for free). This gives you 3 separate crews at 2 crew each. Then put them in barracks. 3tanks of 2 crew members each = the same after conversion of 1tank of 6 crew members - but you get 3x the # of books after the conversion. So you are effectively tripling the # of books per crew. rinse and repeat. Using your existing books (#3) leverages the conversion, but can also be done without maximizing the benefit. And because math is hard: From the common test: AT8 crew: at 6 crew (100% base / 98/44% towards 1 perk) = 6/12/38 (my existing barracks crew + the AT8 crew put in barracks) (ie, 250K*6=1.5M, 100K*12=1.2M, 20K*38=760K) = 3460000 XP in new books Converted the 6x AT8 crew into 3x Manticore crews: = 8/11/37 = 3840000 XP in new books. Thus 380K extra in books XP by converting 6:2 under the max perk

If you do not have bunk space, then stuff all your crews into all your tanks without crew members including rentals. You can also buy all the tier 1s and 2s to help fit crews in vehicles. Then fill the rest of your barracks with 75% crews from 2 crew member tanks (manticore or low tiers). After the patch you will have temporary unlimited bunks in barracks for 3 months so you can move all the shitter crews out of your tanks and into the barrracks. Only downside of having unlimited bunks is you cannot recruit any new crew members after the patch until after you have converted your shitter crews to crew books, but that shouldn’t be a big deal.

6:00 It is extremely important - use only tanks with 2-crew members. The difference in books income will be huge, like few times more than for example for 6-crew vehicles.

Thanks Skill. Also note that you can dismiss crew from tanks to barracks even if you don't have barrack slots left, so I don't think you need to buy any more bunks for your barracks. I think these count as temporary slots and will disappear after the crew are converted. I don't know how long this has been around, or if it is standard behaviour, but I tried it out on the common test and was able to send multiple unwanted crews from tanks to barracks even though the bunks were already full, then the conversion removed them. After the conversion you're likely to have lots of space anyway in the barracks, so no point in buying new slots.

Before the patch hits, recruit 75% Crew for two man tanks, Tanks with two crew members works best, also adding 5 exp to 100% crew with no perks yet, just add 5 exp to one of the rental crew members and it will give an extra crew book worth 20k exp when you convert them all.

I did this,got rid of over 500 useless crew members,and got a metric tone of crew books 💯💯

you can free up some space in your barracks today, by assigning all unused bad crew to free places (in unused tank or by deactivating auto-crew-return in mods and put in bad crew just for one day), that way you have maximum free beds in the barracks and can fill them with 75% crew. after patch you move all the bad crew back to barracks (overflow allowed). BTW: I think you get the most XP out of your 20K creds for small crew vehicles, like that tier1 czech tank (koushenka?).

Yeah. As an NA player, not getting this video or this information from any CC or content creator until after the patch is already live really blows. We cant benefit from the trick for crew books for Czech light tanks because none of the new crew members we buy now will convert to books.

So WG replied we only get one chance to convert the crews with a link to their video which did not say we only get to press the button once. I just got the 698 crew men out of my tanks spent 4000 gold to make up the odd crews that werent fully manned that remained in the tanks and I saw the message. Skill i spent all day going through my 720 tanks, now I have to put those 698 crewmen back which will take ??? ah no i am not. Since crew 2.0 update was announced I revamped my crews 4 times with each change they made, i got 1 crew for 3 tanks set up etc and now this .... They said they cant help, how difficult would it be to be able to allow the players to press the button again ? another micro update which does the same as update 1.24.1 just press the repeat button no ? No they wont we had our chance. Im not gonna sit here again for 5 hrs put 698 crewmen back in the tanks, its supposed to be a game to have fun not a shore !

I wonder if the value of 75% crew that you buy is higher than crew books that you can buy with credits, thats the big ecuation.

you can fill up empty tanks with crews today and then tomorrow you can move the crews into your barracks. You can do this even if the number of crews exceeds your barack space. no need to purchase more bunks. This way you can have the maximum amount of crews to convert after the patch arrives.

I already moved as Many unused crews to barracks, mostly from BP-Reward-Tanks and other Premiums where you get a 100% free crew with. now barracks are full, but i do not extend it for some crews left. What I would have missed without the video is to get one or the other tank in lines I grind to place a free crew in and then have it upgraded for free to 100%. Todays - the day before the patch - i would need 200 gold for each one crew member to see this.

For players who don't want to spend too much time on this stuff: Before the update: Recruit 75% crew members on tanks that has 6 crews members After the update: 1. Feed those crews with EXP books up to 99% of their first skill. 2. Retrain those crew members to tanks that has only 2 crews members such as Manticore and send them to the barracks (retraining crews below 1 skill is free after the update).

The only problem here is that most of the people have a lot of crew members but not enough space in the barracks

The best thing about this is that you can convert a crew from one qualification to another. Two of my turtles with good perks were sitting uselessly in the barrack because after I grind up the next tank have no need for them and I was feeling feeling dejected about it. But now they will find a new purpose. If only you can transfer crew from nation to nation though, let it be like they are defectors, or traitors.

even though i didn't have enough bunks in barracks and it said there is no space, i managed to exchange unused crew from low tier tanks. i don't know if it is a bug or not, but it worked :D

Also Important: the calculation for the crew books depends on the amount of XP divided by the number of crewmembers per tank. So i reccomend to retrain your spare crews to tanks with the lowest amount of crewmembers to get the most out of the XP! Best would be Tier 1 tanks with 2 crew-members!

WG consistently introduces changes very few if any people ask for whilst completely ignoring things that we do ask for! I'd love to see new maps but there hasn't been one for a while.

There is a huge trick or hack that you can do after the patch to simply multiply your books. Use the British line as example. 1.Recruit 6 100%members for your conquer GC(this will be free for post patch) 2.Feed them with 200k exp to get the 98% or 99% for the first skill (it is important to do so on a tank with large crew capacity to maximise the xp value) 3.transfer them two as a group into your manticore, the retraining will also be free. 4.after this whole process you should have 3 pairs of manti crews that have 98%-99% first skill, then send them back to your barrack. 5. Check the training books you get now(do take done note about the previous number), you will find yourself getting extra books for at least the value of 590k xp. Therefore, by inputting 200k you are getting 390k in return, nearly twice the value for literally free.

I've got a ton of next tier tanks I haven't purchased yet, but I'll be sure to retrain the crews to the tank I plan on purchasing. That way they get trained up to 100% for free.

After the patch, you can send ALL crew members to barracks independent how many beds you have in barracks. Yes, you can overbook the beds. No need to keep any you do not need. There will be an error message when you do (like barracks are full) but still, crew members will be sent to barracks. Go through all the tanks you have and send anyone you do not need. AFTERWARDS transfer them all (you even can check which crew members will be transfered, there is a button to see the list).

What I also did after running out of crew spots in barracks and tanks is I bought as many cheap/free tier 1 tanks as possible to get more compensation ^_^

I like the changes to crew, makes it way easier to train good crews.

Crew members who are on 87% on their first perk now will be buffed to 99% when the patch hits. This is because their XP earned from 75 to 100% on main qualification will be added to the first perk. So if they are on 88% they will reach the second perk and no compensation.

pretty sure the last WG vid said it was being introduced soon....rather than when patch launched. Could be wrong tho.

Communication was pretty terrible: 1 - there was no link to the video on the client or the site, 2 - the client doesn't say the conversion button works only once, 3 - the page is not clear on whether the button disappears once used, and doesn't explain that crews in tanks are not converted. I read the text and clicked the conversion, now I'm stuck with dozens upon dozens of crewmembers that were in tanks and not in the barracks. The conversion is great, but communication was pretty terrible if you ask me.

I have 21 rental tanks complete with crews,will i be able to send them to barracks (barracks are currently full) as WG said you can overfill your barracks when patch hits?

Yikes. I'm confused. I'd like to see a few static graphics saying what's happening. Poorly trained crew will become crew books? For the same country or select-able? Are their XPs summed into a few books, or rounded up into more books, or...?

Step 1 - fill up barracks with < 1 skill crews. (Buy new or send to barracks) Step 2 - fill all empty tanks with new crew (All will be moved to 100% and no limit when the patch hits on barracks spots so you can move them also out)???

Cat out of the bag. Theorized and tested this when CT1 just came out.

Tips: 1. all usefull crews with more than 1 skill, move it to any tank (rental, low tier low cost tank) 2. all low train crews send to barrack. 3. if u have crew and waiting for tank discount, retrain it now for 20k, but before u do it, spend all XP on skill 4. free bunks fill with Tier 1/2 commander of each nations 5. recruit crew for future now, i.e. If u will be needed second loader on Tier 8, but u are on tier 7 yet etc.

Does anyone know if I can use crews who are trained for more than 75 but less than 100 for the same outcome to get half of the first skill out of them? Or do I have to recruit new ones with 75 percent? Thanks

I'm too late for this video but all my tanks have decent crew anyway and all the crew in the barracks except for special crew are expendable. However my question is can I put all of the rental vehicle crews into the barracks and convert them to crew books as I never play them?

The update rolled out in NA and all I can say is: The perk efficiency is a SCAM from wargaming! There is no way to retrain your crew for a new tank with 100% perk efficiency without paying in gold! In the old system, you lost 10% crew efficiency for retraining for credits, but you kept your perks, and then you could reset the perks for credits to gain 100% crew efficiency losing a fair percentage of efficiency in the current trained perk. Now you lose 40% of ALL the perks if you retrain for credits, and there is no way to reach 100% without paying 200 gold for crew member (you cannot even use books or free exp WTF!), or being forced to play several games in a shit crew to acumulate the required exp to reach 100%. Good luck going up in a light tank tech tree retraining your crew for credits only to be forced to play a light tank in a upper tier with only 60% of your cammo and view range perks. And oh top of this they cancel the 3 tanks per crew that has been announced for years? I am fucking done with this game! Fuck Wargaming. Stop giving money to these scumbags!

So I started crews on tech tree tanks and when they reached tier 10 I would retrian them. When playing on lower tier tanks they would take the 20% hit to crew perks, NOW with the new system they lose all perks, This sucks.

@skill4ltu how about getting 50% crew for free for all unoccupied tanks, then exchanging it at day 1 of the patch for crew books? All you need to have is enough bunks in barracks. Will it work?
