@@CollinCecil-iw7jryeah what I was thinking and it would depend on the narrow passage under the water because if it was the “Devils Throat” in Cancun, Mexico that used to have a really nice cross (like a Phillips screwdriver) coral that grew in the tunnel that began around 85-90 feet and shot you out around 125-135 feet. In that tunnel that was fairy narrow and long it wouldn’t be that bad to deal with but if I was cave diving then that would be terrifying, another reason I don’t mess with cave diving and stick to shallow to deep water, wreck, drift, and night diving.

I'm a recreational Scuba Diver. I got a story i cant explain. I dont remember exactly where I was because ive been lots of places in the Caribbean and this was a while ago, but we were doing a wall dive . Those are pretty cool you swim around this reef that just drops down into the deep blue sometimes for thousands of feet, but you usually stay at around 60-100 feet. usually one side of your vision is the reef and the other open ocean, and you can see as far into it as the visibility and conditions allow. I remember looking off into the blue and i see this Mackerel hauling ass toward the reef. I thought this was odd cause they do prefer deep open water over reef habitats and he didn't seem to pay us any mind just kept zooming on his way right past us on over the wall which started at around 30 feet heading towards where he would have eventually, if he continued like that, hit the shore. I'm like, well that was cool. Then I catch something moving out of the corner of my eye and just at the edge of the visibility we had i see something huge, i mean bigger than anything I had seen before and Larger than anything that should have been swimming around out there swim parallel to us and then downward. I was the only one that saw it because everyone was looking at the reef and the mackerel that blazed past us. Now, It could have been something normal sized and it being at the edge of our visibility made it look bigger than it should be, trick of the eye and all that jazz, but I haven't seen anything else like that or a Mackerel Scuba diving again and I've been doing it for over 20 years. My thinking is that some kind of very large unknown predator forced that mackerel out of the deep and inland and I saw it just as it dove back down again.

there are some already known fish that we do know for a fact usually resides at deep depths will come to the sruface to feed on abundant fish to support their diet before returning to the deep. whales are the exact opposite. they mostly reside at the surface where not much is big enough to be a threat to them, besides pestering orcas on their babies, but on occasion they return to the deep to feed and there they have natural predators such as the giant squid that will prey on them and their babies. to this day we still dont know the max size a giant squid can reach as they live such discrete lives hidden in the super depths. given that animals do frequent between sea levels on both end of the spectrum it isnt out of the realm of possibility for a deep sea creature to exist and be large due to deep sea gigantism, as well, plenty large prey such as giant squids and whales and whatever else lives down there that we havent discovered. due to the fact that this large creature didnt attempt to prey on YOU and instead retreated means they must have a very strict menu and only prey on what they already know is prey. although if it was chasing a mackerel i would suspect this predator does not prefer larger prey or the others. perhaps a gulp feeder much like whiles and the gulper eel. they have massive mouths and large bodies but dont always prey on large fish because the prey's size is made up for by quantity in the amount they can consume. OR this predator as a large body but a very restricted throat in size only allowing it to eat or swallow smaller prey. even if this was the case, i think you all should be counting your blessings that the yet unknown creature was not brave enough to swallow a new and unidentified prey item such as yourselves. i refuse to do deep sea diving. not because of all the unknown creatures yet to be discovered but because we still dont know where all that water goes. we do not know the limits of how deep the water penetrates the earth's crust and thus we do not know what else besides fish could possibly be down those crevasses and holes that at random produce fast water currents drawing more water in taking the lives of many divers under mysterious circumstances. be open minded, be aware, and learn about your wildlife as new discoveries are often made. this is most important for you to empower yourself with in the ocean more than anywhere else on earth on land. fish put on land are helpless, so are we in the water especially at depths. no safer than a nemo fish out in open water. god forbid anything preys on you and drags you to the depths before you even have the chance to die of your wounds causing a painful death of rapid change in water pressure. just be on your toes, there are things in those waters that are yet to be explained. many thing. i dont go to the beach anymore with family. i'd rather not. not after the feeling i got every time i went into those waters, perfectly fine until i reach a certain distance from the shore and then my heart stops and sinks. a primal isntinctive fear. but what is my body telling me to be fearful of? i still dont know to this day. but that feeling of my impending death was frightening enough to keep me out of the waters for several years. something was there and it couldnt go to the shallows. i bet there was a good reason many big species of fish were swimming through busy beach shorelines between people's legs that particular day. i almost bet there is something out there that even great whites can fall prey to. some great whites have been microshipped and found to have been abruptly stopped from their usual migration activity and suddenly plummet several meters deeper than normal. in other words the dead body of the shark was brought deep for consumption with the chip still lodged in the dead body. or the shark was consumed before decent and the chip was consumed with it. we will never know because eventually the chip died and signal was lost. i dont think we know what the biggest fish in the sea is yet. if a predator is so large it can feed on great whites with ease then that means they would have a low population count to avoid competition with each other for food which means they would have a slow or sparse reproductive cycle. having such a small population and living most of your life deeper in the sea than most would make you a needle in a haystack to find. it's no wonder we still havent found it yet. i would love if we could have an open website where people can post their mysterious or extraordinary experiences both on land and in the sea. there are so many similarities and patterns to many mysteries. investigation is necessary imo. sorry, not sorry, i went on a loooooong tangent.

In Elephant Butte Lake in New Mexico 3 divers went down by the dam to recover a fallen body. 1 diver came up almost immediately saying there were schools of Pike that could easily eat a man & he wasn't going back in. 2nd diver came up shortly thereafter, verified the 1st man's story but he went deeper into a muddy water layer w no visibility & he said something BIG swam past him & spun him like a toy so he got out. 3rd diver came up & he'd gone through the muddy layer & saw the mans body laying on the head of a giant catfish laying on the bottom & he wasn't about to get any closer. On his way up he found a fresh bone & brought it up. It was a spinal cord section with a deeply slanted hole through it. After testing it was determined to be from a giant pile & from the angle of the hole was probably near the tail making the fish over 40 feet long. That spinal section is in the UNM museum with the approximated picture of where it came from near the tail. I've personally seen a pike that was over 20 feet & I don't swim in deep water there either. Only in the shallows of clear water where a pike that size couldn't reach me. At Lyons Beach, in only 4 feet of muddy water people get suddenly snatched under & they're body's are never found. I think thoes damned pike are eating them! That lake vanished more people a year than all the other lakes nationwide combined do. The 3rd diver said there were 4 of thoes giant cats laying in the trough by the exhaust drains. I made a spear w a compressed air container that would sink, spear the fish & inflate it to bring it up. The F& G dept stopped me & barracaded off the area in front of the dam. NOBODY is allowed behind that barracad now. In the Navy we had spears with hollow centers to blow compressed air into sharks to inflate them to neutralize them. I just made a much bigger version. Got stopped before my first drop. F&G confiscated my gear. I had it weighted & finned to drop straight down fast to puncture the backs of thoes big cats. Used a 2 inch drill stem for the shaft. Angle cut the business end like a hyperdermic needle for penetration. 10 feet long with a small scuba tank mounted & the fins on the top. Made a parallel push rod that would open the valve on the tank ,& dump the air almost immediately. From what I've learned a fish will keep growing as long as it has space & food. The old timers w cabins up on the rim say they've seen pike longer than the party boats many times from their high vantage points. F&G WONT acknowledge the giant fish. Don't want to scare folks away from their big moneymaker.

@@Coogi622 , Who knows. I know a lot of factory pollutants from Albuquerque, especially mercury is in that water. We were told to NOT eat more than 2 fish a week due to that. But that was 50 years ago when dumping standards were more lax. Before the drought back when the lake was full & before the state ( in it's infinite stupidity) put the stripers into it you could catch everything from trophy trout to dinner plate sized crappies to many kinds of catfish & bass, all oversized. Night fishing for white bass w lanterns was awesome. Once the stripers went in they ate everything except the pike. I spent decades on that lake. Watched it go through several phases. One never knew what would hit your lures. Last visit 5 years ago the fishing really sucked. I heard some virus wiped out most of the stripers. Idiots were illegally using goldfish as bait & dumping their leftovers & 5 foot goldfish came out of that. Shad populations flourished but the fishing there now is pathetic. Labor & Memorial day holidays were insane. People came from 5 states to party & fish & the Mexican Cartels brought a LOT of illegals, drugs & violence into it. Last I heard now it's just a big muddy craphole hardly worth going to..Sad, it WAS one of the most beautiful/versitile places in the state. The backside was a paradise before Jane Fonda bought it all up for her wine grape growing operations & destroyed most of that. The fertilizer/ pesticides runoff into the lake caused algae blooms that smothered the fish & poisoned out the wildlife. I spent many a summer living alone off the land on the backside. Liked the solitude & quiet back there but her armed guards stopped that. Such is life. Paradise lost.....

@@tristantimothy1004 It's sad. I had no idea the lake has gone through so much. Not only sad but it makes me mad too. I'm glad I took lots of photos from "the Good Old Days". I'm in Utah now and the lakes are in sad, unusable condition every summer. Sick fish, check safety charts before eating! Algae blooms caused a man's dog to die from jumping in the water to fetch a ball. People warned to not go in. The Salt Lake has shrunk to the point last year, they were concerned the silt from the bottom would blow into the city and make people sick. Several lakes dried up, rivers too. I got here in the early 90s and hiked and climbed everywhere while it was amazing. We got extra snow last winter and it helped raise water levels but then drought dries it up. It's a pathetic state and I wish I had the solution. Best wishes!

I live in West Michigan, when I was a teenager (around 2010 or maybe 2011) I lived on a private lake with my Dad in a very rural area, nearly an hour drive to the nearest city. One time me and my buddy were out fishing on my johnboat, when we noticed something coming out of the water near the shore. I saw a few long white hairs begin to rise from the water and eventually what looked like an ape head began to appear, except it was covered in long white hairs that stood straight up like quills. It suddenly dipped back under the water and disappeared. It was only about 25-30 feet away so we got a pretty clear look at it as well.

@dorothystiltner7207 True, I did talk to a co-worker who was doing work at The Dalles Dam in the Columbia River. He said that he was bumped by something, and when he looked back, it was a 10 foot white sturgeon behind him. He wouldn't go back down and ended up walking off the job. It was probably for the best as they are dangerous if startled, spawning or protecting young. These prehistoric fish are known to attack humans, animals and even attack boats at this size. You need to know when to fold em sometimes.

Jen, similar event in Oahu. Flat coral reef about 3 feet deep at high tide with a big crack in it. Snorkling down over the coral reef roof into the crack i ran head on into a HUGE Hammerhead shark. Backpedalling w the shark following me at flippers ends back out of that crack as soon as my head broke water a pair of hands grabbed me by my armpits & yanked me out of the water like a ragdoll into his boat & some Samoan Native was yelling at me " STUPID HOWLIE! Theres a giant Hammerhead down there! " All i could do was gasp & point over the edge. The shark was right underneath us. Kimo ( natives name) took me back to shore as the shark flipped back over the edge back into the crack & deep water. He told me how his family made their living fishing that spot & the shark had moved in & was destroying their nets & ruining his family's business. With all the bad blood between the natives & the sailors i saw my chance for a peace gesture. Told my commander & the next day we returned with tanks, sea lances bangsticks & explosive spearguns to kill that shark for them. Kimo came out with us on our inflatable & as soon as we hit the crack he donned his turtle shell goggles, grabbed 2 lances & fell backwards over the boats edge & disappeared into the crack. While we were still putting on our tanks & gear we felt 2 " WHUMPS" under the boat & a few seconds later Kimos head popped up all smiles, threw the now discharged lances back into the boat, grabbed the anchor rope & went back under. Shortly after he reappeared, and said " Its done! Go to shore." We did towing the dead shark w us. 14 footer. Kimo had popped both of the lances explosive heads into that sharks head. His family threw a luau for us that night. Cooked parts of that shark & ate it. They made a fortune selling the rest & were able to start setting their nets again. Kimo & I became great friends. Drank SAKI my first time that night. That stuff is murder in the brain the next day. Worst hangover i ever had! 😁

I've watched a few cave diving videos regarding Ben S. I believe he went diving that night. The two employees unlocked the gate for him. Ben being a regular & knowing the employees etc. They let him go where he wasn't technically qualified to go. I believe the employees either returned later that night or early the next morning. They noticed Ben's truck hadn't moved & alarm bells went off! Ben obviously ran into trouble & these two employees new they were going to be in deep shit! They removed Ben's body instead of reporting what had happened. Opening the gate for Bed was negligent & ultimately led to his death. The owner is ultimately responsible I believe as the employees work for him. This was a bad situation for the owner all the way around! His parents spent a lot of money trying to recover his body. After Ed S went to try & find him & couldn't locate Ben. He told Ben's family he's not in that cave! I believe he passed away & they removed the body to cover their asses.

I love how one of the mermaids in the Black Sea encounter actually waved it's hand in an apparently friendly gesture. Perhaps these beings are like us: curious, but also easily spooked. And you don't want to spook them, especially when they are in their home turf. Interesting that in one instance, it appears that they can communicate via telepathy, or that disk that they were holding could function as a translator. What's a bit unnerving is that they apparently knew Ukrainian, making it unlikely that at least some of these beings have been observing us.

My Grandpa worked on the old Bridge going across the Kanawha River in WV, it is feed from the Ohio River. He said when then first we’re pouring the bridge abutments that they had six divers, on the 1st day they lost two, 2nd day they went down in pairs and only one came back. He said he almost was ate by Giant Catfish, that his buddy diver swam into the mouth of the fish but didn’t know until it was to late. Apparently they just lay on the bottom with their mouths open when they are hungry. After that I believe he said they poured the giant blocks inside of forms and sank them with lighting attached before anyone went back down. Could just be old man tales, but who knows what was down there 80 years ago

I remember deep sea diver stories and one of the guys admitted after all the years, experience, and crazy things that happened to him that humans definitely don't belong deep under the ocean and IF YOU DIE DOWN THERE, your screwed. I guess you get trapped in a kind of spiritual limbo or something. No thanks. Deep dives ain't worth it. Somethings aren't meant to be. But as usual humans always push the envelope, breaking nature's law, spiritual laws and every other kind of law you can think of absent-mindedly thinking they ain't gonna pay for it. Tisk tisk tisk. Smh... there are always consequences for everything we do and ignorance of the law does not excuse accountability.

You're a good orator. Good skills. Easy to follow. Captivating Thank you for the story. I received a few "awards" in the '70's for recording materials for the visually impaired. My favorite was the "Ragged Ann and Ragged Andy" series for the little people... with sound effects using two real-to-real tape recorders. End of story It was a good time in my life. I wish I could do it again. Thank you.
