This is a true story. In 1996 I used to DJ as a side job. A friend of mine called me and asked if I was interested in doing a wrap party for a movie called " Soul Food." I'm like, " Sure". Anyhow, I was doing my job on one level and on the lower level another DJ was doing his thing. A couple of my nephews would assist me from time to time. So I asked one of my nephews to cover me while I take a break and walk around. There were plenty of celebrities in the place. So I see this beautiful woman standing across the room having a conversation with some people. We locked eyes for a minute. I tell my nephew, " Yo, I know shorty from somewhere. I think I used to date her back in the day. " He's like, " Yeah?"... I'm like, " Hell yeah. I can't remember her name but I'm sure that we dated. " He's like," Call her over here." So I began to gesture for her to come my way. She smiles and makes her way over to us. When she walks up, I begin to smile. I'm ready to mingle. She says hi. The next thing I know, I see a short guy standing behind her. She's holding his hand. That's when it dawned to me. This wasn't anyone who I had dated in the past. This was someone I had recognized from many magazines. It was Tracey Edmonds, the wife of BabyFace. I was super embarrassed. BabyFace seemed a little bit annoyed at first but after I apologized, he was cool. Everytime I see her I think about that one moment. True story.
