To secure connection with devices, Azure IoT Hub allows the use of X509 certificates, self-signed or CA-signed. Setting up a development environment with test certificates is important for ensuring devices behave the way they are expected to. This demo video will walk you through the steps necessary to create test certificates with OpenSSL, validate them and connect a device to Azure IoT Hub.
