He’s mad humble, If you see him out and about, he’ll greet you. It’s usually the men and women whom are like that in this business, that never ever seem to get their just due, particularly as a dark skinned leading man. As an Actor myself, guys like Derek, Mahershala, Idris, obviously Denzel Washington and the O.G Sidney Poitier are the guys that are admirable from afar. I root for guys like Derek. Hey Charlemagne, I remember that book club where we had to read a certain amount of books and we got the free pizza. I live in Miami grew up in Miami we had that down here and I graduate high school in 2000 not too far after you graduated, I read all the time I was always in the library I had to my dad made us read constantly about black history so I was a big reader grown-up 80s baby. And I love all of Judy Blume books. I read her books growing up as well. Derek is so fine by the way I always thought he was fine. He still is fine. I love him.

AntwoneFisher is one of Denzel Washington's best work. He not only co-starred but directed this very important and impressive work. Important because it brought much needed attention to our broken foster care system in America. Impressive because the story is true. How growing up with no parents or abusive parents, biological or foster, can have a huge impact on children growing up. Now I'm going to have to watch it,yet again, tonight.

Miracle at St Anne was a great film featuring Mr Luke. Glad to hear from a grounded brother in the acting/ performing arts space. Yes, the dinner table scene in Antwon Fisher was very powerful and captures the feeling of ‘home’; being surrounded by welcoming, invited LOVE. Possible for Black man, which men overall do value and are suited to belong here if embraced. Great interview 👍😎

I think he could have taken over as T’Challa after Chadwick Boseman passed! He would have been amazing for that character! He already has experience as a superhero and him and Chadwick have that smooth charming charisma about them! Derek Luke can act too… I hate that they didn’t let T’Challa character be recasted!

@@boedwards3629 Lots of people wanted him to be recasted as T’Challa but Ryan Coogler said he couldn’t bring himself to recast the character which I understand. But Derek Luke would have slayed it! Him and Chadwick are the same height, build, color, and Derek Luke can do the accent! He did it during a interview cause he said he gets mistaken for Chadwick a lot! He sounded just like Chadwick… I was Stunned. Ryan definitely should have chosen him but the pain of losing Chadwick was so hard for Ryan. But maybe he can be a long lost cousin in Black panther or something lol 😂
