It’s easy to see how a horrible detective can screw up an entire investigation. The female investigator has to be one of the worst I’ve seen in a long time! Sliding the phone across the table, yawning and making weird faces like a teen girl would! She is horrible at her job.

they're letting her work on it, on a big case so yeah it's kinda dumb. She's not as bad as the female cop I witnessed being told multiple times to pull her taser. She was on nonlethal, but decided to just walk around like she was casually waiting for an ubereats. She never even pulled taser, forcing her male partner to use lethal force on a woman running at him with a nine inch kitchen knife. I think it was donutoperators video, but female cops in the field are much more dangerous in my opinion. That police department is now being sued for wrongful death, and because of that female cop failing to do her job, I believe they have a decent case. This situation will end in this person going the mental hospital route for the rest of her life, but even police are short staffed sometimes.

As a person with autism, I hope nobody tries to analyse me like that. I don't look into eyes, I don't really have facial expressions, and I'm _always_ thinking very intently about what I am saying (assuming no psychological emergency). My sentences are pretty much full of qualifiers.
@Bllairy4 місяці тому
In that situation I would confess about autism on the start of the interrogation
@SupremeGrand-MasterAzrael4 місяці тому
It isn't that black and white you don't need to worry about that. The things you mentioned have to be considered against a baseline behavior. In an interrogation like this, police always start out observing how you act before they ask you questions. They need to see how a suspect/interviewee acts "normally". If they observe that you don't make eye contact and speak very deliberately, they will factor that in to their analysis of your nonverbal communication. If using a lot of qualifiers is something that a person does in low stress situations or questions; that person using a lot of qualifiers in a high stress situation or questions is less likely to be a sign of deception. The same goes for lack of eye contact or facial expressions. Or even if someone displays "nervous" behavior or self-soothing behaviors. All these methods of detecting deception must be used in the right context to be useful.

I know my opinion doesn't matter much, but I think the male investigator did a great job here. He kept redirecting her concerns of 'ha-nging herself' to the idea that she is just recounting truth. It must have made her feel comfortable thinking that he believes her story (56:30). Also, stacking questions might not be a bad tactic. He introduced her children in one line of questioning that may have been too much for her, but by stacking the questions it allowed her not to answer it. Then later when he asked about the children again he didn't stack the question. But the introduction of the topic was no longer as shocking as it had been brought up before (57:03).

Too many times have I come to the comments only to find people making petty, demeaning, and dismissive remarks and starting arguments over the most meaningless points. Anyway, I completely agree with how effective the male detective's tactic was. By introducing the topic of the kids in a stacked question it cushioned the landing for when he asked her directly. Great point Drew! I really hope more people like you keep commenting on videos and those who start the 'boys rule girls drool' stuff learn to let all that go RIP in kindergarten where it belongs. 👍
