It's very possible to win a fight on rounds despite your, opponent landing more punches overall. It'll inevitably be controversial though due to the nature of how we generally judge fights outside the ring.

See, that’s the way I had it also just watching it for the first time. If I swung one of those other close rounds for Loma, he still would’ve lost. Close rounds don’t mean you win them, it just means you did better. You also have to remember that was a very pro Loma crowd, so they’re going to see things how they see them with their favorite fighter.
