I was watching a Jack Black Tik Tok and then I clicked on the sound and went over two videos and saw a video about this show and then I clicked on the comments to see if anyone mentioned the name of the show since it didn’t in the description of the video, then I came across a comment saying, “What’s the name of this” and someone replied with “dirk gentlys holistic detective agency” and someone else replied to that with, “It’s not tho” and so I copied the comment and pasted it to see if it was the real name, and it was and I came across this video, and then went back to Tik Tok and went to reply to the person who said, “It’s not tho” and replied with “It is tho” and then clicked on UKposts again and watched the rest of this video while spending a long, long, long time on this comment while it plays in the background.

This looks as if Landis was trying to make Dirk Gently play like a cross between Legion and Preacher, but without the charm of the charm of the titular character from Douglas Adam's books. Still a fun watch

This was a great show but unfortunately the only weak character is quite a big one - Dirk gently. The actor who plays him simply does not nail the role and is not even close to what Douglas Adams imagined him to be. The original character wasn’t annoying but rather Ephemeral and ethereal. Gullible and naive and yet also wise and all knowing. Closer to Mos Def’s portrayal of Ford prefect in hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy or even Matt Smith’s portrayal of Doctor Who. It’s a real shame as Elijah Wood‘s performance is brilliant. It’s just that the show runner didn’t really seem to grasp the nature of the source material. I still think there is a brilliant and more importantly, popular, show, in this but I think we may not ever get a chance to see it. Still, worth seeing
