sharpned as hell .. typical samsung this is biggest problem this phones. Procesing and sharpened. Vivox100 is better in this. And reall sharpen picture is only in the center.. Video is not impressive, not more detail and typical worst exynos rendering like s22. And night video photo is very poor , festival of noise procesing color splash in shadow. This is flagship for big price?I dont think so

I watched your vivo x100 pro camera comparison, and I totally understand what you are saying.

I am quite confused regarding the latest S24U and Vivo x100 pro video tests on youtube. Between 2 testers there can be huge differences in video and photo quality.

The answer is no s22 ultra s23 ultra I would ok with either of them just ordered s23 ultra ❤

My Samsung phone just turned 8 years old 😅 not a scratch 😁 any of the new phones this year will do for me i will still pick S24 Ultra there are settings to reduce sharpness in the photos that folks here complain everything is on maximum by default u just gotta disable (scene optimizer) and enable (picture softening) some stuff and there ya go future updates will make the phone better...was really considering the vivo and pixel 8 pro cause of the camera with all the cool pics i seen ppl take but S24 Ultra is the better phone overall imo

Still getting the S24 It is the future.

Like iPhones, many people buy Samsung because they are fans, so Samsung does not have to try too hard to influence them. The S24U is an example of that; more of the same for what fans like but nothing that makes it stand out if you are a neutral, non-brand-loyal customer. Most of the phone is excellent; are there any bad flagships for battery and performance? They all buy the same off-the-shelf components. So, the camera hardware and software are the main differences. Both Samsung and Apple trail the Chinese OEMs with camera hardware. And with VIVO and OnePlus getting better at software, we see no discernible reason for neutral consumers to pay the extra for a Samsung. I suspect Samsung knows this, so they sweeten the deal with trade-ins and deals to keep the churn from their fans and keep their fingers crossed that the US keeps effectively banning most Chinese brands. Whereas the S23U had appeal as we finally saw the end to Samsung-made chips, with TSMC a class above what came before, this means the upgrade (update, really) from the S23U is almost a non-event, especially as the AI stuff will land on the S23U by Q2 of 2024. A sign of the times more than Samsung playing lazy? As for the S24U being ready for launch, it clearly isn't, so a few updates before we should make a final judgement.

From my time with both the S23 Ultra and S24 Ultra, I must say that the cameras on the 24U are a backward step at the moment. The colours on the 24U are muted and flat and the device overexposes way too often. Especially in video. I was very disappointed to find there was more noise in night video too. Especially in dark sky detail (Samsung's weak point here as the 23U is not brilliant here either). The new 5x zoom lens on the 24U is simply not as good as the old 10x optical system at magnifications of over 10x. Details are not as sharp, and can even look a little cartoon like on occasions. Let's hope that future software updates can improve things with the S24 Ultra to give it the nod over it's predecessor.

There is already SW update related to camera and performance , so we dont know how much these reviews will relevant , camera and performace improvement by samsung to its phones since s21 series has been impessive.

The issue with the Vivo x100 Pro, Oppo 12 Ultra and Xiaomi 14 Ultra is the update policy! They cost at least here almost the same as the S24 Ultra but have only 3 - 4 years updates and the updates don't come monthly.

Interesting results... Looks very unoptimised tbh. Samsung will most likely change things in updates but pretty sad considering the £1000+ asking price. Enjoyed the video brother, only request is could you lower music volume slightly going forward, it's very loud 😂

Feels like your not viewing this from the right perspective. This is an update not an upgrade. If you have the 23 ultra is an update. If your coming from a note 20 or maybe another brand this phone is going to blow their mind. You just showed a phone camera so some amazing stuff.

Ive been fighting with Samsung users on reddit for the past week. I got the phone 2 weeks ahead of release. I got it for free and was expecting to switch from my Pixel 8 Pro to give Samsung env a chance again after 10 years. This camera is the worst ive seen in 3 years.

Im the same mate payed £780 for my s23 uktra brand new its modt ive ever spent on a phone and while i love the flexibility of its camera system not one of its cameras are amazing you can get some great shots but the competition from the chinese phones are much better i would swap my s23 ultra in a heartbeat flr xiaomi 14 pro oppo find x7 ultra

I was so disappointed in the quality of the night video capabilities of my S23U. I just got the S24U in the mail the other day and I can't wait to give it a good test run at the next concert I goto in February. My old S21 Ultra's night video absolutely smoked my S23 Ultra in overall quality. Hope the S24 fixed the issues and brought back killer night shots.

Actually the camera of the S24 Ultra is better than that of the S23 Ultra. I had both but the S24 Ultra was worth the upgrade. Not only for the camera's but also the screen is a big improvement. And I love the look of the Titanium Gray version.
