In this video, we will explore the process of sniffing Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) data, a useful technique for debugging BLE-related issues. We will set up a simple BLE data logging system and a BLE sniffer, then examine the data flowing within the system.
Our BLE system includes a sensor node and a display node. The sensor node, which acts as the BLE server, consists of an ESP32-C3 module with a DHT11 temperature and humidity sensor attached. The display node, serving as the BLE client, is made up of an ESP32 Pico Kit and a small OLED display.
To capture BLE data, we will use an nRF52840 dongle from Nordic Semiconductor in combination with the Wireshark software. The video will not delve into the technical aspects of BLE. This video is intended for an audience interested in DIY electronics projects and Bluetooth Low Energy(BLE) technology.
