In this episode we'll be building two DIY desks. The first is an extremely simple DIY Woodworking project, that anybody can tackle with a limited set of tools. The second can also be built using only a few tools, but is more challenging as it incorporates more complex angles and geometry, covers building drawer boxes, tapering legs, and more woodworking techniques.

the author does like to from scratch, shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. ukposts.infoUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ as another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us dont have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we wont be able to practice the full stack project, is still great.

Great video and top notch production values, as always! I’m looking forward to building a couple of these (the 2nd style) for my kids and with their help! Quick question: I don’t see the privacy panel in the layout of the pieces at 7:10. Seems like it would be the same width as the apron, right? What height would you suggest? Also is it helpful for stability or is it just for the look? Thanks, and keep the great content coming! Your videos are excellent resources for anyone trying to learn and improve our skills and understanding of the process.
@Foureyes.Furniture
@Foureyes.Furniture 3 роки тому
Hey David. Yeah, privacy panel is the same width as the stretchers. As for stability, it might make it slightly less prone to racking...but it isn't needed. So I'd consider it optional. Height, again, doesn't really matter, I'd just cut it to what ever your visual preference is.

First, this was a really great instruction on the tapered legs - I was able to replicate them using your sled method. I'm a long time watcher but this is the first time I've tried to replicate one of your builds and it's going great so far! I have a couple more questions though: 1) I'm realizing your cut chart doesn't include the privacy panel (and thus I have no plywood left for it out of my 8x4 sheet). Is it necessary from a strength perspective, in your opinion, or just a 'privacy' perspective? 2) Do you have details on the drawer slides you used? Thank you very much!
@MrTwodogs56
@MrTwodogs56 3 роки тому
I am like you. I have all the parts laid out a little different from the layout provided. My grandson didn’t want the back panel so I have extra but I was wondering if I needed it since he will be using it against the wall. Loved the design when I saw it and so did he.
@MichaelSmith1991
@MichaelSmith1991 3 роки тому
@@MrTwodogs56 so it's been holding up just fine with the pocket holes into the desktop to keep it stable. I definitely can feel extra "twist" that wouldn't be there with the privacy panel giving extra cross bracing but I won't be letting anyone stand on mine so I'm not worried about it at this point. Easy to add in afterward if I end up finding it too weak. Just thought I'd give my experience
