It’s a great cage but I would recommend u get a bigger cage like the ikea tank or a 40 long since your wheel is so big when money is not a issue if it is and get a lot more toys and a lot deeper beading. I love the cage so much! Just make sure to keep the bedding away from the wheel because it can cause the wheel not to move as well and then it’s not as useful because they can’t run on it.

I would recommend a double bin cage to give your Hamster more room ! We have 9 Hamsters and we always get the biggest bins we can find ! The wheel is taking up alot of room and hardly any floor space ! Double bin you can put the wheel on second leavel to give you more floor space !

Great! I got a 90 Quart bin today! I’m happy it’s above the bare minimum! Honestly, if you’re looking for something cheap, but ideal, a 90 quart bin is great because mine was less than TEN DOLLARS

A way you can continue to upgrade it is you can hang hammock and stuff off of the chicken wire. This type of cage is a bit too small for a Syrian but you can still add lots and lots of enrichment.

It’s a 90qt so probably its just like 400 sq inches or less,even 106 qt bin cage it’s just like 420 sq inches

This cage it’s less than 100 liters so it’s probably below the bare minimum,even the 100 liter or 105 qt bin its just as big as the bare minimum

I wouldn’t 100 percent listen to what everyone else says! Yes your wheel is big but this cage is much better than what they sell in the stores

Is the lid optional? Can you just have an open bin if its high enough so the hamster cant get out?

know this is an older vid and you ordered a detolf awhile ago but to other who may just be stumbling upon this video now like me....most places/people recommend 105/106qt bins as bin like in this vid narrows some as it goes from top to bottom so the ham may not get the use of all the square inches the measurements says it has...where as the 105/106qt bins dont slope/narrow in so you ham gets use of all the space

450 sq inches is not “ideal” it is the BARE MINIMUM means if while yes you can have a hamster in it it is recommended to DEFINITELY size up

I have a 105 qt bin cage it’s around 430 sq inches but it’s still small (even if the minimum it’s 420-450) so For my birthday im gonna say to my mom that I want to connect the cage to another because making holes is difficult

I bought one for 18$ and it is about 460 inches flour space so it is big enough and really cheap I recommend it to you guys

Ohhhhh, I feel you ^^. I got a hamster about a week ago. It's a dwarf and she has a pretty big aquarium / cage thing (in Germany we call it Nagarium: from Nager / rodent and Aquarium, it's pretty much a mix between aquarium and terrarium, designed for rodents). Mine is 100cmx40cm. In Germany, that's the minimum for dwarfs, not sure how much inches it is. BUT I'm already realising she needs more space. I think I'll get a bigger one in a few weeks. Love the Detolf, but I think it's a bit thin and flat. Still searching for a great alternative.

I don't know what kind of hamster you about to get but I think this chickenwire probably isn't the best idea. Hamsters do klimb and are smarted then one might think. If the hamster monkey bars those large holes could be a potential risk in my book.
