Today we'll talk about assembling, installing and connecting the LED strip in the kitchen with our own hands. Is it difficult to do it with your own hands and what is needed for this? Watch the video to the end and you will understand that there is nothing complicated about it.

For this we need:
- aluminum profile with a diffuser;
- LED strip with warm glow;
- power supply unit for LED strip;
- lever-type terminal connections;
- self-tapping screws
- hacksaw for metal
- drill or screwdriver
- knife
- roulette
The aluminum profile for LED strip is usually 2 meters long.
I have a corner kitchen, so both profiles should be shorter by the width of the profile so that the LED strip can be laid out without hindrance.
We measure the distance we need and cut off the profile with a hacksaw for metal. First you need to saw through the wide side of the shelf. Then, on the side shelves of the profile, make cuts to the middle of the metal ... and with a slight movement of your hand break off the unnecessary part of the profile.
After that, in the center (between the sides) of the profile, we drill holes with a 4 mm drill. We start marking the holes from the edges of the profile, which should be about 5-10 cm, then so that the holes are no more than 20 cm apart, in which case there will be no sagging of the profile. The holes will serve as guides when attaching the profile with self-tapping screws to the kitchen drawers.
Try to drill the holes exactly in the center so that the head of the self-tapping screw does not later rest against the sidewall of the profile.
Cut off the formed shavings with a knife.
Now about the screws. Why do I use self-tapping screws with a press washer? Due to the flat bottom part of the head, a more extensive pressing of the profile to the surface occurs. Choose a self-tapping screw in length so that it does not pierce through the shelf of your kitchen.
Before attaching the profile, pay attention to whether the dressed diffuser protrudes onto the profile. If it sticks out, then make an appropriate indent from the wall when attaching the profile. To accurately determine the indentation, you can cut small pieces of the diffuser and put them on the profile next to the mounting hole. The diffuser will rest against the wall and will not allow the profile to move. Otherwise, you will not be able to close the profile with a diffuser and you will have to re-attach the profile.
My diffuser does not stick out, and I apply it, with its side wall, directly to the wall. I fix the profile with a screwdriver, but this can be easily done with a Phillips screwdriver.
We attach the second profile and also fasten it with self-tapping screws. We look through the entire section of the profile for its tight fit to the wooden surface of the kitchen.
We drill a hole for the LED strip wire and take it out inside the cabinet where the power supply will be installed for it.
Remove the protective paper from the adhesive part of the LED strip and glue it inside the profile.
Without gluing the tape to the end, you need to determine the place of its cut. The LED strip is cut only in certain places.
I had one more LED segment left than the profile. It can be folded inside the profile. If you still have a larger piece of tape, then it is better to cut at the previous cut point. This will not be noticeable, since in this tape the distance between the cuts is 3 centimeters. The fullness of the profile with LED strip, even 2 cm, will not be conspicuous thanks to the diffuser.
We mark the diffuser along the entire length of the wall and cut it off with a hacksaw or a hacksaw blade. I do not recommend using side cutters or wire cutters for this, as the plastic can burst in an unpredictable direction. You can correct the cut line with a sharp knife.
Remove the protective film from the diffuser and insert it into the profile.
Now it remains to connect the power supply, which will be turned on by the switch. In the junction box, into which I have phase, zero and ground, I bring in a cable from the power supply with wires of three different colors.
