Dmitry Bivol’s (16-0, 11 KOs) DAZN debut was a resounding success, dominating Joe Smith Jr. (24-3, 20 KOs) to retain his WBA light heavyweight title.
In the main event of a Matchroom Boxing USA card from Verona, New York that was streamed on DAZN, Bivol defeated Smith by unanimous decision (119-109, 119-109, 118-110). The fight was Bivol’s fourth straight title defense taking place in the United States.

Joe Smith is certainly a good man and a great competitor, and very strong, but he has virtually no skills in terms of boxing-- meaning, footwork, controlling the tempo, evasive tactics, and the like. He's basically a beast trying to land one huge punch. These kinds of fighters are regularly exposed at a certain point.

Yes, I'd have to agree, he simply jabs the roundhouse rt. Once the roundhouse right misses a couple times, he then goes to jab, straight right. He's not jab, adjust somewhere, feet, shoulders, jab to stoamch, jab to chest to get in range. He's like a robot. He's needs to jab, take a snaphot, a pic, then decide. Throw the right, take a snapshot, decide again. Why is that Bivol does not lt. hook, str. right, then hook to the liver, then head? Why doesn't he have a liver shot? But back to Joe Smith, yeah is he ever keeping it simple, his style that is. No snapshots=no adjustments.
