Not to long ago my son's ex made a remark about how I live in the 50's and I'm to old fashioned 🤣. I wasn't always this way. However, a storm hit WV and took the power down for 6 weeks. Gov't came in for a week and handed out supplies and was gone faster than they came. That's what got my attention and I started reevaluating, " What if that happened to me? How would I make it?" That was the day I changed how my family and I lived. I had to start living as if I was having to live on my own. I learned to can food, garden, put several trash cans under my gutter to collect rain, get a water filtration, wash boards, making soap, learning how plants are our medicine and how to use them, etc. I started this in 2011 and taught my kids just how much we've all been stripped of knowledge from cooking, growing food, sewing clothes, spinning wool, carpentry especially. But not all our knowledge has been stripped. We now have to look, observe, and learn through the Amish. I don't have it all together but I take it one day at a time and allow God to guide me with his wisdom. 👍

Many people wish they had the skills and know how to do the things that you have been doing...I commend you for taking the time to learn how to be more self reliant...it's a great quality to have...others will be wanting you to teach them the things you know...it's something you should be proud of... This fastfood crowd will suffer through all of this the most..

It's about protecting others and aiding all I can.. If I get killed while protecting others that is my fait I'd rather die trying and fighting than to stand down and do nothing watching others suffer every person has to make that up in their mind before the moment arrives men who think twice or question these things will save himself...not other people and certainly not a stranger that they don't know.. But each man does know ahead of time what they would choose..cowards save themselves..men save others

22 years ago when my husband and I married, we started a farm due to money issues. Then it became a way of life. People made fun of us SO SO much. They would say when the apocalypse comes they we showing up at our house. We purchase very little from the grocery. Every year we purchase new trees to benefit our needs. My home is sustainable from the land we live.

I stored 4 years worth of a variety of food in my master closet. Took everything out of it and put steel shelving 6 feet tall. Rice, beans, flour, everything. 200 pounds of meat in the freezer. I took a side job to pay for it. Start with water. Lots of water. I had 13 cases under beds. Just do something to put food away. And pray for God to help you store up.

You inspire me. Sounds like you are doing a super job of preparing for emergencies. However, a word of warning for everyone about storing extra water. I bought 5 gallon plastic containers of water, and regular plastic bottled water bottles, and all the containers had split by the end of one year of storage indoors. Lots of people are buying water in plastic bottles - just beware that plastic bottles are only a very short term solution. All of us need to be storing our emergency water in durable containers designed for long term water storage. They are available on Amazon and other places too and are in many sizes. It’s worth the investment.

Still working at 70 and doing my gardening. Gardening is hard work, as I have been told hard work will not kill you. I enjoyed planting seeds an watching them grow it gives me a sense of life., if that makes sense to anyone. I love to go bed at night knowing I have accomplished something worthwhile and good each day.

I have been trying to prepare for 10 years. I started getting visions of a different world and have been trying to get ready for it. My husband has called me a conspiracy theorist and I can’t even talk to him about any of it. I work my butt off growing a garden, canning, etc and he complains it’s easier just to go to the store! Anyway, I have figured out ways to get around his triggers so we have three acres, horses, heritage turkeys, chickens, raising some meat birds, have a major medicinal herb garden, I have planted fruit trees, have an emergency hand pump for our well, emergency food and I’ve learned all of the edible and medicinal plants in my are. I have slowly accrued all of this by making excuses he could wrap his head around and support. It’s extremely frustrating and with the way things are going now and with him still not caring and sticking his head in the sand it’s making me resent him. If something doesn’t happen soon I’m not even sure how much longer I can stay married to him which breaks my heart because we’ve been together for 25 years. It sucks doing it alone but I’ve done it, I feel pretty good about the fact we won’t have to worry about food and water and can hopefully help others when the time comes. And I pray he wakes up because I hate being disgusted with his utter stupidity and indifference.

Agreed. My husband told me to ‘stop buying that survival stuff’ in February of 2020. By the time May of 2020 rolled around he was happy I’d been prepping and said so. Yours will come around soon. Just leave it in God’s lap and keep doing what you’re doing. In case no one else has told you, you’re rocking it girlfriend! 😁🥰

I have the same problems. I had to move my food storage to another room and needed help because of disabilities, I thought he was going to fall over dead when he saw what I wanted help with! He said I was out of my mind and to stop buying food. I can't garden anymore so I buy and can everything. I told him about cost of food he won't listen though yesterday he came home whining about hamburger being over $ 7.00 a pound all I could do was say I 've been telling you that for months but I guess I'm the crazy one. The chickens have been attacked for the last 2 weeks buy raccoons we have set out cages to catch with no luck and have shot 3 don't know if that's the last of them but I lost my rooster and best broody hens I told him I will be buying more and again he lost it. His friend called 2 days ago wanting to know where I buy my food I store because he wants to purchase food for storage, I laughed because now he thinks maybe I might not be so crazy. I just ignore him when he freaks out about this topic and keep doing what I do he forgets about it and does fine until I have to have his help. He is cleaning up his shop and thought he was going to get rid of some tools he thinks he doesn't need be cause he retired well I took them and put them in totes he looked like he would explode I just laughed and told him to get over it they are mine now since he didn't want them and they were not in his way. I guess all this noise I'm making is to say just keep doing what you are doing just stop telling him about all the world problems you planning for because some people just can't go there it makes their minds go bonkers.

I always tell my adult children, the Bible talks about trimming your wicks to prepare for the bridegroom. To me this is saying be prepared it will happen. Also heard a preacher talk about Shadrack, Meshack an Abednigo went thru the fire, they did not get taken out of the fire by some miracle. So that tells me we need to be prepared for fiery trials.

King Nebuchadnezzer had them thrown into the firey furnace because they refused to bow down and worship his image. When he looked into the furnace he saw four men walking around. It was God that was with them and protecting them.

7 yrs. ago we adopted 5 children. We felt the Lord tell us to homeschool them. This year we’ve moved to a 26 acre homestead and will teach them to grow their own food etc. God told us to rely on Him for EVERYTHING. My husband no longer works for man and God is providing...

I received two major blessings in my prepping. Had a minor problem with my expensive solar power station. They refunded my money but let me keep it. Then a small freezer I bought had a crack on the plastic. I reported it. The company let me keep it and is sending another one, which I really need. I couldn`t afford a big freezer, plus these are low wattage and I can run them off solar in a power outage.

Good for you... I’ve wanted to do this for years... have solar powered refrigeration. I’m hoping to get on that this fall... I’m working on water collection and growing beds right now. I was just getting started on that literally a month before I moved onto a small urban ranch with plans to prep in all ways possible. I got caught without toilet paper ... boy was I hitting myself over the head. But there is no way I could have been prepared for the few things I would not be able to get. I did have a lot of hydrogen peroxide which has so many uses... its not available at the dollar stores anymore. But, it’s a reminder that we need to be as self sufficient as possible.

I’m suburban. I have a side yard that gets most of the sun for the day. Get 5 or 6 large square pavers (to keep the pots off the ground) and the same amount of those huge, massive flower pots that you always think “What the hell would someone want that huge thing for?” every time you see them in the hardware store. Plant one veggie per pot along the side yard. There’s your “Raised garden” that you don’t have time to build.

First time I heard you Really enjoyed your info I was raised Pentecost, pretty strict. We're in our 70's now. Our children don't really believe all these things. We live in city. So just a small backyard garden. But we had a terrible time finding seeds. Starter plants have doubled in price. I believe the Lord is definitely winding things up. We're doing the best we can do with what we've got. We pray daily, we haven't been to church in so long. Covid has kept us inside majority of the time, but so thankful for decent health, a roof over our head, food in our belly and a God to pray to. Thank you for your talk and advise. You all take care.

I totally understand exactly what you're talking about, the days are numbered and yes we need to be wise. I thank Jesus so much that He chose me. I've been trying to so much overcome some anxiety at harvesting our chickens I'm so thankful for my husband but I also know if he's not around I will overcome with no choice then but I hate to wait till then. I've been looking for remote land but here in Northern Michigan it's very expensive but in the meantime we are establishing what we can. A garden, planting fruit trees, still planning on honeybee's so on so forth. Thank you for your porch talks it's so nice to listen to a God fearing wise man that can share other things that we might not of heard yet. I'm drinking my coffee while I watch this video. You remind me so much of my sweet daddy. He was country through and through. We had some of our best talks over coffee on the porch together. I sure do miss him. When a man like you or daddy says something will come to pass, CHILD...you'd better listen. You have eyes to see that many others do not because you are so close to the land and the soil. Close to the weather and the signs that Mama Nature is giving. Heavenly Father holds a special place for souls like you. Daddy was rough around every edge and fought his own demons all of his life but he was always wise beyond his years. Sounds like the call I got recently, I used to work repo. Yes, I know I'm a small girl but I drove the truck and carried a gun, 2 of the main requirements. The last financial crash had me get into that in my early 20s, but I won't be doing it again. People are crazy.

Try doing that in Mexico. I brought back stollen units for the ins. Co. No gun, an old Chev pu and always wore a dress and white tennis shoes. Some units had armor and 50cal holes in them. Cartels have really taken over now and I have my 96yr old mom to take care of. I loved that work. Gave out Spanish Bibles, and messages by LR Shelton Sr translated to Spanish. May the Lord use them mightily! 🙏🙏😁

Exactly how I interpret scripture and see things happening. My dad had 3 girls and I happened to be the girl that wanted to learn how to hunt, clean a fish, squirrel, rabbit and deer. Has been years since I have done it and even hunted like you, the older I have got the harder it is till kill animals. I attribute it to we start to realize how fleeting life is with age and find life more precious whether it be us or the animals. But I will put those old skills back to use if necessary. My husband does not have any of those skills and is 11 years older than me and in very poor health. So it’s me, myself and I and lots of prayers trying to navigate through what’s coming. Limited income, but I am very frugal and have been buying up as much meat as I can afford for the last year and canning it. I just keep on plunking along trying to use wisdom with what I see coming and what I am able to do.

One way farmers could cut costs back in time was to use alcohol to run their farm equipment. The proabition movement shut them down from making alcohol to run their engines. Why can't we make our own fuel too and get off oil? They are pushing E85 that is 15% alcohol. We need to convert back to that. Them we can do it for ourselves.

I was checking out at Wally World with a couple dozen herb and veg plants. The lady behind me laughed and said that was too much work, she preferred to get her produce at the store. I smiled and thought, so there’s one of the first to go begging when shtf. I wish her well when the time comes.

@@christywright2188 A while back deep south homestead, alderman farm and grow family network did a confab on hightunnels. Grow family network went into how they got an NRCS grant for a hightunnel. You go through usda. Alderman farm also got their hightunnel with this grant. They talk about rules and restrictions of this program. Deep south did not use this program and talked about how they use their hightunnel. I was going to I purchase 1 with my income tax refund. I started pricing them. I could never afford 1 without the grant. Because of this confab I got my paperwork turned in for the grant. My property will be inspected this summer and in Nov I will know if I qualify. Hope this helps

Something else is having some cast iron. With that you can cook without gas or electricity. I have a very extensive collection but I've become almost obsessed with the beauty of it. However it only takes a few pieces to care for yourself in a survival situation.

Brian and I are in our hunting stand in my picture.. Brian is 32, and was just diagnosed with heart Failure there is no explanation why, and the DRs seem to just play with him like a lab rat. He has always been a hard working American, but yet, it seems that the way the system works if he worked less he gets better medical, we are not well off financially at all due to medical Bill's flying in. We just had our first baby 20 months ago.. We have so much hope. Very nice videos love the veggies, real discussions.. I really like the comment about god doesnt want us to fear! Thanks..

Personally speaking I would start making him eat vegan immediately. Just do a trial period and then test all his figures again. As little processed food as possible. He is obviously very sensitive to at least some aspects of the modern American diet.

@@geoffreyshubert2263 Brian's diet didnt get him in this circumstance, they checked for arterial blockage, nothing. Might of been when we all got really sick last year in January, his body just reacted differently. Over all, Brian is a healthy man, we dont eat processed food all the time. He actually just got another echocardiogram today, after this its ither a ICD or not... most likely he will need an ICD TO control the chambers in his heart, he also has electrical problems, bradycardia atm.

This year I only planted heirloom seeds and one variety of each plant so I can save them. I'm not getting nearly the production I'm used to but at least I may have seed for next year.

Search pollination bags on Amazon, for self pollinating plants like tomatoes you just put them on the flowers before they open and once the tomato forms you can pull it off and tag those tomatoes and be sure of purity... I've built a greenhouse and turned my whole yard into a garden this year. Growing 15 varieties of tomatoes close together (all heirloom) and plan on using these bags to save seeds this year.

This year, we took our "hush money from President-not-D-trump" and invested in personal infrastructure. Greenhouse, heirloom seeds, tools, chickens, bigger gardens, food storage, books..... no need for fancy new clothes or tvs. Ty for putting out info. Blessings to you both

Loved it today! I’m glad you are doing something you want to do and feel well enough to do, I think because youtubers share so much of their life, that people feel entitled to their private business, but it isn’t so and it isn’t anyone’s business. I’ve listened to a few channels on these topics but honestly I had to stop all the others because they fear monger so bad and it doesn’t make my spirit feel well. I have quail and rabbits, only thing I can have where I live currently. But we do a garden and preserve food. We are working our butts off to get a bigger property out of the city in the next year. But we are prepping our current location now so that if needed we can sustain here. Luckily our state doesn’t ban rain water collection so we are working on that now to store water for us and the animals/garden.
