Today we have WAY TO MUCH FUN while testing if the LEGO TITANIC FLOATS!? This massive 9090 piece set measures 135cm long!... It does not fit in our bathtub! So we had to upgrade the body of water with the help of a swimming pool! At first, the LEGO TITANIC floats quite well but then came the icy waters and ice burg... That was the true test. Find out if the LEGO TITANIC floats in this new epic!

To prevent the boat from tipping over, it is essential to weigh it down. This is the case with Playmobil boats where a metal bar is fixed to the bottom of the hull.
@xBoOpx
@xBoOpx 2 роки тому
even then I doubt it would float for long, hull wasn't designed to keep out water and its too heavy to keep the ship at a realistic water level. i'm sure it can be modified but it would take non-lego things to do.

The center of gravitiy is too high and/or the width ist too small: The model will capsize as all models with this weakness are doing. You need to lower the enter by gravitiy by using a keel as done for sailing yachts. With this additional weight the model will be to heavy and sinks. My answer: No, the model doesn't float.

Its possible, but I think the colors of the ship will have to be changed a lot due to what it looks like now underwater. I'm sure someone can essentially build it based on the current instructions but adding (or at least subtracting) parts of the build to make it look like the shipwreck. @@charles24852 I guess thats possible as well. It will still require the same amount of detail as the ship that sank that day including the roof structure being smash down quite a bit on the bow. @pieterboelen2862
@pieterboelen2862 2 роки тому
Exactly my thinking. Just some really heavy weight down below as ballast and she should be fine. Real ship would've had fuel compartments down below; and use much lighter materials on the superstructure. That's how they prevent capsizing. Still, clearly she DOES float. As basically all LEGO must. Has to be difficult to make something that actually stays steadily *below* the water.

My father always said that the Titanic might have been kept afloat for longer, if some weighted tarpaulin sheets could have been draped over the side where the damage was. They might have stemmed the leaking seams sufficiently to allow the pumps to keep the boat afloat until help arrived. Similarly, some cling film around the Lego Hull would have helped!!!
@janetpendlebury6808
@janetpendlebury6808 2 роки тому
I dont think any amount of tarpaulins would have done any good. When the ship hit the iceberg it created a 300-foot-long line of damage on the starboard section of the hull, including punctures and gashes, that opened up too many compartments to the sea, the weight of the water dragged the bow down so low that the ship eventually sank. If it had more lifeboats many more people could have been saved.

I cannot imagine the work you put into building this “Block” Buster and have to use your air compressor to clean each part pain stakingly to remove any water droplets from 9,090 submerged parts. I liked the Ice Scape. Should inspire the creators to recreate the LEGO Iceberg !

What LEGO Set # is that "Long Haul Deep Sea Exploration"? My Son would LOVE to have that set, and even IF i couldn't find or buy it for cheap enough, I could always just build it with the instructions and pieces I'd buy from BrickLink!

Hmm the officially floating Lego boats had weight to be connected to the bottom of the hull so that the boat stayed upright.

If the joints between the sections were sealed, it would probably float

I plan to make my own Titanic movie with trumpeters Titanic Converted to rc and then use the lego Titanic as the sinking ship and yes I intend to make it as historically accurate as possible using James Cameron's 2012 and 1997 sinkings and combining them it will be put on UKposts so everyone can enjoy it
