Literally there already exists technology you can access for free at a hobbyist level programs that will render water in real time and the technology can even understand the shape of the object its meant to fill, and if things are colliding with it.

I found two wallets when I was in college. One of them was stacked full of big bills. I gave both to the campus police station. At the same time, I was going through a phase where I was also somewhat regularly shoplifting books and alcohol, even though I had jobs and money to buy them. I think it was really just the idea of stealing from an individual that repulsed me. When it was larger than that I lost sympathy and found a sort of pleasure or thrill in it.
