Hi. Do you think an ipad air 5, if i buy it now, will do his job fine for at least 6 years (with the last two years without a software upgrade support)?

Great question! Yes, you will still get a lot of use out of your iPad Air 5. It has the Apple M1 chip, which is still a blazing-fast processor. And iPadOS has never really taken advantage of the power M1 chip. The M1 (and now M3) chips are Apple's desktop/laptop chips, and macOS utilities the full power of the M1 chip much better than iPad because they are full operating systems. In contrast, iPadOS is based on iOS (Apple's iPhone operating system). I know multiple people who still use iPad Pros from 2018, and they work perfectly fine and are still speedy (6+ years now) with the latest iPadOS, and the 2018 iPad Pro doesn't even have the M1 chip. So, after my long rant, LOL, yes, your iPad Air 5 still has a lot of life left in it. :-)
