The winners and best entries of recent years really have shown it: to bring your own song, one that makes the performer comfortable singing it instead of a song that is very obviously "meant for eurovision" is the best way to participate. Switzerland did have as much winner-quality as the other 3 mentioned songs, it was only a twist of fate that the final result didn't turn out another way. Partly because there were many strong entries, watching Eurovision in 2021 really was a joyful experience, so I tend to think of most of them as winners.

I love it when the artists compliment each other it's so wholesome! Gjon shouting out Ukraine, France and Italy for also singing songs in their native language is so sweet
