I'm an Australian. Jazz & blues are the United States gift to the world. I'm still tingling from that performance. Thanks guys

Real music played by real musicians. I had the honor of doing sound for Taj three times, and I've always been a fan of Ry Cooder since his first solo releases and his contributions to the Performance soundtrack. I also owe him a big "thank you" for his efforts in bringing Buena Vista Social Club to the rest of the world. These are world class people with few peers.

This couldn't have come at a better time. I'm having a rough morning. Music is so healing and Taj is a master. I consider Taj Mahal a Musical Shaman. And Ry Cooder is one of the icon's of American music in the lane of Woody Guthrie. Sincere thanks to both and the band. What a BLESSING!

Don't recall ever seeing a bunch of musicians having any more fun than these guys playing Statesboro blues with Taj.

I'm so grateful that both of these great men are still alive in 2020. Amazing to see Ry with Taj again, right back where he started 55 years ago. I can't imagine what it must be like to play a gig with someone, really dig their music, and get together and do it all again more than half a century later.

When I first came across this video on UKposts, the only reason I watched it "was" because I recognized Don Was on bass. I just wanted to see what he was up to. Then, when the video finished I was sitting in our family room with misty eyes, and said out loud just what POSROCKNROLL said just below - "It just doesn't get any better than that." If you don't love this music, you got no soul!

Taj and Ry both great slide players were in band called the Rising Sons around 1965. And Ry played with distinction on Taj's early records. Both are deep musicians. The whole band is having fun on this tune. Taj's early version was Duane Allman's intro to slide, and we know where that went ;)

Now that's a powerful performance! Taj Mahal is like a Mack truck at vocals. You can see Ry Cooder enjoying every second of it. Epic!

I have loved Taj since 1967 when I saw him for the first time. He brings life to any song he plays.

I first heard Taj in 1967. For me he was the John Lewis of music. I knew if I listened, I'd be better for it. Only the Jerry Garcia Band put a similar smile on your face as you listened and you'd be better for it as well. Truth be told.
